Every time a new season comes out I just binge watch it and keep wanting for more. There isn’t a dull moment in this show. Cobra Kai not only brings back your favorite characters as a fan service but it brings complexity that allows for exploration of grey area. Cobra Kai created a unique tone that finds balance in teen soap opera, interesting character moments and pure badassery!… Expand

I most like watching Cobra Kai it's already consecutive in season 1 to 4, hope it will be season 5!
I am happy watching all the theme seasons and feeling tense, negative or positive, sad, angry and other things!

Well, that's a hell of a job. I really like the Karate Kid trilogy and seeing my favorite characters live on after a few years was famous. I'm so impressed with what they've made of them. I really liked how their lives went on and when IWell, that's a hell of a job. I really like the Karate Kid trilogy and seeing my favorite characters live on after a few years was famous. I'm so impressed with what they've made of them. I really liked how their lives went on and when I think back to the old Karate Kids, it's a blast and I think it's a really great progression. There's not much need to reminisce as there are flashbacks to old movies here and there to remind you of some situations. So seeing Daniel and Johnny a few years later was surreal and they pull the whole series together for me, but they definitely don't lag behind the rest! The other characters were great too and some of them had awesome development. The music was good, but the one I downright adore is the one that almost always plays at the end of the episode. It feels so 80's but modern at the same time and I think it's a very good mix. It downright made me want to watch the next episode every time. This show had perhaps everything on point. The storyline, but also the action, which is yummy here. In fact, I'd say there's not a single flaw. Even after Netflix took it over and I was so expecting a drop in quality, I have to admit that I was wrong in the end, and maybe even in such a 4th season the quality even went up a little bit, which I thought was maybe not even possible anymore. We'll see how it goes from here and I hope they don't spoil the ending somehow. It would be a shame. It's wonderfully paced and the quality hasn't dropped. I'd rather not drag it out too much longer and delay the ending, but who knows, maybe I'll be wrong again and Netflix will blow my mind. For me, a great series that I recommend, even to those who haven't seen Karate Kid, but it'll definitely have more value to you if you watch the old Karate Kid, preferably if you saw it a long time ago, because then it's a nice nostalgia trip.

This show just goes from strength to strength in character development and story telling. It is a genuine masterclass of how to bring an old story into the modern day.
For those familiar with the original Karate Kid movies, the storylines areThis show just goes from strength to strength in character development and story telling. It is a genuine masterclass of how to bring an old story into the modern day.
For those familiar with the original Karate Kid movies, the storylines are familiar and engaging. You become aware once viewing episodes of Cobra Kai of how two-dimensional the original movie characters were and how simplistic the story themes were. In the CK show, the characters are nuanced and well developed, with backstory development and different perspectives - Zabka's performance as Johnny is fantastic and you can't help rooting for the guy as he bumbles through life. While Macchio's 'Daniel' is a much richer and less likeable character in many ways, both are so much more fully realised and human and that is just the start. By series 3, even the wholly 'bad guy' Kreese has a fuller backstory and is becoming more understandable in his motivation, if not likeable.
Series 1 introduces the characters and in many ways parallels the original movie for the modern audience, with many new characters. Series 2 is where things really get interesting in term of the development of new storylines for characters and series 3 keeps the tension at the same high levels. This is probably the only show left that I would (and did) binge from start to finish the day it is released.… Expand

An absolute masterpiece. This show is a hidden gem and deserves a lot more recognition than it’s gotten. Loved it. Season 1 is just plain awesome with some great throwbacks to the original movies. The nostalgia is just so good and adds a lot of depth to the movies in terms of character development. Cobrai Kai provides a respected throw-back to many aspects of the original The Karate Kid. Often times hilarious, and with many heartwarming, good-valued moments, make the series a must see for any fan. Overall, I love how the series treats the original movie characters; it is nostalgic of, but not dependent on, the movie in a way that is not heavy-handed or corny or cheap, but ties in nicely with the story of the original movie. A wonderful successor to The Karate Kid. I have not been as keen to watch each episode since the days of Breaking Bad. It’s such a funny and charming series, and constantly surprising, in a great way. Hopefully it will have a long run.

OK.... it's really not objective because I love the original Movie, too.

Season 2 picks up where the fun season 1 left off, with the Return of Kreece. Season 2 is every bit as good as season 1. Season 1 is absolutely fantastic. It tells the Karate Kid story from the antagonist's point of view and with a melancholy that follows the denouement for the losing side. Nostalgia and kick-ass 80's music aplenty; the writing and charactersSeason 1 is absolutely fantastic. Nostalgia and kick-ass 80's music aplenty; the writing and characters do a good job balancing interests of both adult and teenage viewers. I was hooked and binge-watched the whole season in a day.

Season 2 is somewhat weaker, acquiring "Days of Our Lives" feel to it with some rather cheesy stunts (and adding more cheese to the Karate Kid is a ridculous level of cheese!). It's still entertaining, but lacks the refinement of the earlier season (heance the 8/10 rating overall). Here's hoping season 3 finds its footing again!… Expand

I have to give it a full 10.
This Series makes so much different than others that it just stands out.
They acomplish to write about many Charakters and nobody is the typical good or evil one, it is just a point of View (how it is often inI have to give it a full 10.

The Teenies are not as overwritten melodramatic as in other Series, they do not go on your nerves, you do not think it is a overfunded soap Opera.
The Fights ae well done!

For having such a good writing and charakter Development it deserves 10 points!… Expand

Bad acting
Bad plot, as if a stupid karate dojo even matters.
The “epic” music ruins it even more because the fighting scenes are just plain boring.

I'm of the generation that took inspiration and motivation from the original Karate Kid movies and to see them twisted and gnarled this way makes me sad. I only made it through 4 episodes of season 1 before the stink of bad plot, poor script, and worse foreshadowing made me turn it off. I didn't watch any reviews before I started watching and now after reading them I'm baffled why anyone would be interested in this failed attempt at reviving one of my generations favorite film sets. Guess we are in the days of rewatching new writers who didn't live in the 'good days' try and cater to what the kids want these days. I'm going to watch the original again now to try and wash the bad scenes of this overrated show out.… Expand

THIS IS THE WORST SERIES I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! The Toxic masculinity and bullying is such a put off. The acting is equally mediocre. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first Season was incredible. Banging synthwave soundtrack, plenty of montages and central characters you liked and could really get behind. The tournament they were working up to and Miguel's fight with Tyler and his goons provided plenty of mileage, but after they've been defeated the second season completely loses it's way. All the characters you loved start to act like idiots and make decisions contrary to why you loved them. For example Robby starts training his kids to be violent and allows his old sensei back, which is so unbelievable. Miguel overnight becomes an aggressive, nasty piece of work. So does Hawk. Ok, we can get behind Hawk becoming a bit of an anti-hero, but to make him one sided and now a complete bully, ruined his character and made you feel frustrated you ever liked him. Same as Miguel. I could deal with the cobra kai members struggling with issues of aggression, but why turn them into baddies? Mr Larusso starts off kind of cool. He's flawed but he's still a good man and you get a feeling that Miyagi's teachings have really shaped him. But during the second season he starts behaving in a really petty way and is almost encouraging his kids to get involved in skirmishes. He acts distraught when his daughter gets drunk and stays the night at Robbies, but he has no problems getting her involved in his dojo feud and leaving her vulnerable to getting badly scarred and almost killed. Sam also becomes very irritating, just messing with boys heads and not being able to make her mind up. She indirectly causes Miguel's coma if you think about it. It all starts to feel like a high school teen drama instead of a bada!* martial arts show. The dialogue also becomes very hammy and it feels like you're watching The Room. They needed a compelling enemy for the second Season. Without one the show just meanders around not knowing what to do with itself.… Expand
