In an era of constant poor reboots it’s nice to see one done well. A lot of the humor comes from the differences between millennial and Gen Z high school experiences and just how culture have shifted. There is still that patented zaniness from the original. Only complaint is I don’t care for the new voice actor for Cleo and how little she is utilized. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The series has potential. But, it needs to grow too. The new season focuses on relationship drama and surface level antics. Which is fine considering this is the first season the show made in 20 years and the audience needs to get acquainted with old and new characters. It does develop more developed characters and relationships as the show progresses though. Which is a plus.

It does an ok job at humor, especially among people who are in their late teens/early twenties. But, some of the jokes were low hanging fruit or plain... immature, even for the show's standars. But there were some jokes that landed and brought a good laugh to the episode.

Some episodes also turned into thinly veiled allegories for political issues. It kind of calls back to the Animaniacs reboot, and most of us know what happened to that show.

As a side note, I was also turned off when Ghandi did not return to the show.

Overall, the show does show some promise, but, the show also needs to grow if it plans to survive past season 2.
