Darker second season is a plus for me. Overstretching the feminist agenda and women power is a minus. I mean, "teenage witch" is by definition a feminist theme, so why did the writers have to create a whole season around the oppressing patriarchy, blah, blah, blah. Loved the atmosphere, acting and directing.

I love the acting in this show, I love the seductive tone, I love that it allows a young woman to revel in her badness and her goodness -- the idea that she must be an amalgym of two things or her goodness is tainted or her evil is ridiculous. I love watching the wiggling of the patriarchy, the Church of Judas, the fear of change. The kindness of her family, and the many definitions of family the series projects. Theo's line isn't cut and dry,and once the writers decided not to struggle with it, allowing to watch Theo grow -- while maybe it isn't the most realistic portrayal of transitioning, in terms of time, it is a healing one that is maybe more important to see than the struggle we are more used to seeing. It is just a compressed storyline with a nice payout.

Overall, character development in this season is more flat than the first because the plot progresses at uneven paces, picking up wildly at the end, and I feel like two seasons worth of material was used in the last five episodes. So much interesting information was glossed over. At the heart of this series is the interest and lore of witching and satanic worship, and that exists here, but so fast it just blurs.

That said, I loved the development of Theo, post basketball team episode which I am so glad wasn't the beginning of a tortuous arc; I loved Mrs. Wardwell, and Hilda's development. I missed more of Sabrina, the Weird Sisters, Nick Scratch in terms of development.

The details of this season were delicious -- the mandrake, the lucenalia, Lilith's story. Her love affair was so unexpectedly moving and strange. The Missionaries was an amazing episode, so fun to watch.

That first and last paragraph is why I rate this show in the green. What I like I like more than what annoys me; its ideals and taboos are more interesting than the ones on some shows that have more patient writers, and I just love most of the actors in this series.

After a slightly slow start to this season it really got going later on and ended stronger than season 1 did. Excellent!

Mejor organizada que la primera temporada y en aceptación a su tendencia satánica nos muestra una serie que va madurando a medida que crece, los personajes han sido bien contextualizados pero todavía quedan algunas excepciones.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved this season even more than the first season. This season was so cool and the new mysteries were awesome especially learning that Lucifer/The Dark Lord was Sabrina's dad. The entire cast gave stupendous performances especially Kiernan Shipka, Michelle Gomez, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Gavin Leatherwood, Tati Gabrielle, Chance Perdomo, Ross Lynch, Lachlan Watson, Jaz Sinclair, and Richard Coyle. The writing and screenplay were even more fantastic then the first season. The story and all of the storylines were more terrific than the first season. The visual effects and makeup are just as great as they were in the first season. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is one of my top 5 favorite Netflix original series's of all time and one of my favorite series's of all time. A+ for this season for sure. Expand

Season 2 expands and builds on season 1 in a great way. The lore is amped up to 11 and continues to build a really cool world. The cinematography is still great, the editing is really good, and the production design continues to wow me in every way. I am still baffled more people don't talk about this show. It outshines Riverdale in every way. I am also really impressed with theSeason 2 expands and builds on season 1 in a great way. The lore is amped up to 11 and continues to build a really cool world. It outshines Riverdale in every way. I am also really impressed with the performances this season. It was not perfect and still can improve in lots of ways. I am still annoyed whenever the show throws social justice warrior writing flat in the viewers face. I don't mind the message but the way they do it is so obvious and takes me out every time. The story also waits until the last couple episodes to use Harvey. He is just a whining baby the whole season and does nothing of use until maybe episode 7 or 8. Nick and Theo are the the show stealers this season and I really loved season 2. Expand

This season has what the first season didn't. Characters have grown & are more complex, there are more surprising plot twists. Add that to the way they displayed witchcraft in the first season and you have this amazing season.

  1. Each time Sabrina swerves into such uneven territory, it finds its way back to its strengths as a visually rich, darkly comical, and immensely fun to watch piece of wish fulfillment. The show ricochets from near-perfectly pitched dark fantasy to rote considerations of normal life, only striking the right balance when it doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it still has enough magic and wonder to enthrall.

There’s not necessarily a feeling of bloat so much as aimlessness.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, like Sabrina herself, is having more fun in Season 2, but it remains too reliant on smoke and mirrors. Strip back that glossy gothic-horror surface, and the internal logic of the story turns to dust.
