They turned the Dark Lord into a complete joke by defeating him in the blink of an eye (and with another spell that was pulled from their a***s at the last moment), basically wasting all the build up and implications of some grand battle. He doesn't even get to fight. Following that, Blackwood flees, Lilith is queen if Hell, Zelda is the High Priestess, and the female takeover is complete. Everything is now sunshine and rainbows. Yay women. Expand

A totally sloppy, incoherent, unnecessary, annoying, predictable project, no risk at all. This sums up the 2nd season of this series. After seeing this, I find the first season a work of art.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season opened where the last one left off, and let me tell you that they have tripled down on the trans propaganda. A hefty portion of each episode is dedicated to how 'Suzy' transitions to 'Theo' and how xe doesn't even need to change xer body to be stereotypically male in order to feel like a male.

Apart from that, the tangled web of alliances is in a total shambles. Just when you think you have figured out where a character stands there is an M. Knight Shyamalan style twist revealing their betrayal. Faustus turns into Jim Jones, changes the Church of Night into the misogynistic "Church of Judas" run by what appears to be a group of black shirts reminiscent of literal Nazis/Proud Boys. When the chips are down he has everyone drink poisoned cool aid during a Dark Mass and tries to run away with his children. Lilith's familiar betrays her relationship with a mortal to Satan and she ends up having to eat him for dinner. Dorian Grey betrays Ambrose and Sabrina for no reason other than he likes to cause trouble, after being their friend for the entire season.

The weirdest part was the introduction of Angels. They were dressed as Mormons and their leaders look like young versions of Tucker Carlson and Liz Wheeler. They convert witches by making them renounce Satan and all his works and proceed to kill them with smiles on their faces and peppy talks about coming to the light. Sabrina manifests as the Sword of Lucifer and converts them to the Dark, before burning them. So much for "when they go low, we go high"! Bash the fash and all of that.

The series is a complete and utter mess with a few good moments. I think that they should have rather included Sabrina in Riverdale and established her character before spinning her off into her own series. The writers clearly have no idea of what to do with this material.

This season has ups and downs. The visual remain incredible, even better than the first season. But I felt lost in a few moments, and the end did not instigate me for an upcoming season. Anyway this series is cool to watch

It seems as if Lena Dunham got wasted and wrote the script. Apart from that, it's pretty okay.

Darker second season is a plus for me. Overstretching the feminist agenda and women power is a minus. I mean, "teenage witch" is by definition a feminist theme, so why did the writers have to create a whole season around the oppressing patriarchy, blah, blah, blah. Loved the atmosphere, acting and directing.

More obscure and violent than the first season but was a bit more hollow. Yet Kiernan Shipka remains fresh as Sabrina.

I love the acting in this show, I love the seductive tone, I love that it allows a young woman to revel in her badness and her goodness -- the idea that she must be an amalgym of two things or her goodness is tainted or her evil is ridiculous. I love watching the wiggling of the patriarchy, the Church of Judas, the fear of change. The kindness of her family, and the many definitions of family the series projects. Theo's line isn't cut and dry,and once the writers decided not to struggle with it, allowing to watch Theo grow -- while maybe it isn't the most realistic portrayal of transitioning, in terms of time, it is a healing one that is maybe more important to see than the struggle we are more used to seeing. It is just a compressed storyline with a nice payout.

Overall, character development in this season is more flat than the first because the plot progresses at uneven paces, picking up wildly at the end, and I feel like two seasons worth of material was used in the last five episodes. So much interesting information was glossed over. At the heart of this series is the interest and lore of witching and satanic worship, and that exists here, but so fast it just blurs.

That said, I loved the development of Theo, post basketball team episode which I am so glad wasn't the beginning of a tortuous arc; I loved Mrs. Wardwell, and Hilda's development. I missed more of Sabrina, the Weird Sisters, Nick Scratch in terms of development.

The details of this season were delicious -- the mandrake, the lucenalia, Lilith's story. Her love affair was so unexpectedly moving and strange. The Missionaries was an amazing episode, so fun to watch.

That first and last paragraph is why I rate this show in the green. What I like I like more than what annoys me; its ideals and taboos are more interesting than the ones on some shows that have more patient writers, and I just love most of the actors in this series.

After a slightly slow start to this season it really got going later on and ended stronger than season 1 did. Excellent!

Mejor organizada que la primera temporada y en aceptación a su tendencia satánica nos muestra una serie que va madurando a medida que crece, los personajes han sido bien contextualizados pero todavía quedan algunas excepciones.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved this season even more than the first season. This season was so cool and the new mysteries were awesome especially learning that Lucifer/The Dark Lord was Sabrina's dad. The entire cast gave stupendous performances especially Kiernan Shipka, Michelle Gomez, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Gavin Leatherwood, Tati Gabrielle, Chance Perdomo, Ross Lynch, Lachlan Watson, Jaz Sinclair, and Richard Coyle. The writing and screenplay were even more fantastic then the first season. The story and all of the storylines were more terrific than the first season. The visual effects and makeup are just as great as they were in the first season. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is one of my top 5 favorite Netflix original series's of all time and one of my favorite series's of all time. A+ for this season for sure. Expand

Season 2 expands and builds on season 1 in a great way. The lore is amped up to 11 and continues to build a really cool world. The cinematography is still great, the editing is really good, and the production design continues to wow me in every way. I am still baffled more people don't talk about this show. It outshines Riverdale in every way. I am also really impressed with theSeason 2 expands and builds on season 1 in a great way. The lore is amped up to 11 and continues to build a really cool world. It outshines Riverdale in every way. I am also really impressed with the performances this season. It was not perfect and still can improve in lots of ways. I am still annoyed whenever the show throws social justice warrior writing flat in the viewers face. I don't mind the message but the way they do it is so obvious and takes me out every time. The story also waits until the last couple episodes to use Harvey. He is just a whining baby the whole season and does nothing of use until maybe episode 7 or 8. Nick and Theo are the the show stealers this season and I really loved season 2. Expand

This season has what the first season didn't. Characters have grown & are more complex, there are more surprising plot twists. Add that to the way they displayed witchcraft in the first season and you have this amazing season.

Sabrina's friends really suffer from massive regression, tokenization and a shallow need to turn them into a preaching tool. All the growth they had last season is gone and they come off as stereotypes.
The need to constantly stop and have characters talk about "oppression from men" when all the male threats have been reduced to level of cavemen.
The show does have it's good moments and the Spellmans can be great to watch but the need to push politics too often took the show off the rails and ruined the momentum of what could have been a really wild show to be remembered.

  1. Each time Sabrina swerves into such uneven territory, it finds its way back to its strengths as a visually rich, darkly comical, and immensely fun to watch piece of wish fulfillment. The show ricochets from near-perfectly pitched dark fantasy to rote considerations of normal life, only striking the right balance when it doesn’t take itself too seriously, but it still has enough magic and wonder to enthrall.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, like Sabrina herself, is having more fun in Season 2, but it remains too reliant on smoke and mirrors. Strip back that glossy gothic-horror surface, and the internal logic of the story turns to dust.
