Hugh Arkin built his own house and now his Mum lives with him. They would like the sitting room brightened up.

Janet and Eddie Kenny also built their own house and would like their bedroom changed.

Michael Jewitt has an old church theme in mind for the Arkin household. The colors are pale green, pale blue, and a slighter darker shade of pale blue. They also have a walnut stain for the floor. They lay down a design in tape on the floor, then stain over it, leaving the design in the old stain color. They put all the bookcases together and build a bit extra onto it for design. They paint a red stripe at the top of the ceiling and put a pole in front of that. They then paint a design on top of that, they call "bishop's hat". More designs in between the bishop's hat too.

Linda Barker is in the bedroom. They start with Hugh applying a bonding material on the walls. Hugh's Mum is an expert sewer, so Linda puts her to work quickly sewing all the new fabrics for the room. Linda picks out a very luxurious wallpaper for one wall in the room and the rest of the walls are painted a lilac and pale blue. They paint square hardboard into a stoney effect and then varnish them. Linda says it should look leather-y. Hugh also builds them a brand new bed.
