There are some shows that aren't funny, but Chad was so unfunny it made me want to vomit myself after hearing one piece of the humor. The characters are technically walking shells that have -100 IQ levels and are your very stereotypical teenagers.

It’s just not funny. It’s embarrassing to be honest as I want to support a female creator but no, just no.

I actually intentionally came back to lover my score from a 1 to a zero.. it’s that bad and not funny at all.

Who is this show for? Honestly, outside of the critics, I know absolutely no one who watched this past the pilot. This tries to imitate Fresh Off The Boat and Ned's School Declassified by melding the story of being the child of immigrants andWho is this show for? Honestly, outside of the critics, I know absolutely no one who watched this past the pilot. This tries to imitate Fresh Off The Boat and Ned's School Declassified by melding the story of being the child of immigrants and the struggles of being a teenager, and falls woefully short with both aspects. There's no real struggle over cultural identity outside of the cheap jokes aimed at ethnic food, and the attempts to portray a teen boys struggles fall short because the actor is a 40 year old woman.

How this made it past a pilot, I don't know. Possibly some attempt to read the landscape and meet a quota, or because of the name attached to it. Every critic calling this a cringe comedy is deluding themselves and their audience, it's just cringe. The show would have been better suited taking another page from Fresh Off The Boat's book by actually casting a teenage, Persian boy who would encompass the type of character they're trying to portray naturally because it's in their wheelhouse as it's their lived experience.

I went in with low expectations, unfunny sitcoms that get greenlit and end in one season or less are nothing new, but this is more suited to being aired in Gitmo to extract information from prisoners to turn it off. You'd be better off re-watching a sitcom you have fond memories and feelings for, or even the Home Shopping Network as even their banter can be somewhat funny on occasion while being cheesy, unlike this.… Expand

My mind was blown that it was a 39 year old woman, but loved that fact because she was able to kind of mock the age she was playing, when a real 14 yo couldn't have. I found this very funny, can't understand the extremely negative reviews. It's uncomfortably cringe at time(all of episode three). This show is ridiculous but in all the best ways. Yes it's cringe, but it's different! Go in with an open mind ready for cringe fest and you'll enjoy it.
