Apr 10, 2016As near to perfect a modern sitcom as you could possibly hope for: rude, touching, real. Can't fault it, other than it made us binge on it and then it was all gone.

Apr 23, 2016Great show. Funny, authentic and original. There's real drama and comedy in it.
And there's nothing artificial or contrived in it like in many other shows.
This collaboration between a brit (Sharon) and an american (Rob) just works.
Thumbs up! -
Apr 8, 2016Best comedy to come out of the UK in some time.. Rob and Sharon have hilarious interactions throughout and it never stops providing hilarious moments. Just a shame it's only 6 episodes long! Bring on season 3!

Apr 30, 2017With the set-up and characters firmly established there are certainly more laughs per episode in this second season and an overall this was an improvement on the decent first season.

Dec 22, 2021as waertight as before despie a slightly annoying b-side story in the form of Rob's friend. its best quality is how well it understands itself and how it validates the issues it has with an adept swift hand that makes for a unpredicable short season. i love how hese parent's feel real and how the messes they were when they met are just as messy now. near perfect comedy

Jan 23, 2021A strong second season that ups the family drama while still delivering the laughs.

That’s [fleshing out the supporting players and introduce new wrinkles into the main relationship] more or less what Catastrophe does this time out, with varying degrees of success, but always with enough wit and energy that you’ll want to keep watching even if what’s onscreen is not as blazingly fresh as what you saw last time.
-
Catastrophe offers much to laugh at; it is perhaps one of the most cleverly and subtly written sitcoms currently on offer.
-
A thoroughly enjoyable comedy that brings vigor and charm to a familiar TV trope.
