That being said, the show as a whole is tired and needs a move towards something other than made up conflicts and endless X-files-ication. Seriously, the layers of conspiracy are just getting dull and it feels like they will never end. What happened to solving silly murder cases with irreverant banter and the occasional gag?

It also doesn't help that they're now putting in jokes about the age of the characters. And they're struggling more and more to find reasons to keep them all together while developing them and moving them forward. One hopes the show is looking towards how to end in a way that serves the fans of its whole run.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Beckett gets kidnapped. Why is everyone in the show getting kidnapped?
The only thing that I don't like about this is the new writer. The plot is painful to watch. Hopefully, this isn't the end of Castle.
