Season 1 Review: t’s a bit unfortunate that the educational material is thrown at kids in an expositional lump rather than being threaded throughout the plot of the story itself to make it more meaningful, but that’s clearly not the intention here, for better or worse. I loved it. This is one of my ten favorite netflix original series. The animation combines perfectly with the characters and the story.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The show is a bit of an odd show. It starts with two episodes detailing Carmen's origin story. A trained master thief that made it her mission to foil the machinations of a shadowy organisation. It is only until the third episode where it shows off its other main intention. To educate the viewer on geography and different cultures around the world. I certainly wasn't expecting it but I appreciate what they are trying to do. Later episodes will have segments where characters unloads a paragraph of facts about the city they are visiting for the episode. It's a bit clumsy, but the show makes an effort to incorporate the information to the narrative at hand so it rewards viewers who pay attention to the educational portion of the show. Think of the show as kinda like Dora the Explorer but with action scenes and a plot.… Expand

Carmen Sandiego is a great show! It's one of the best Netflix originals by far! It's got an engaging story that's been fun to follow throughout the first 3 seasons and I can't wait for more!
