The best season so far. We get new good characters, villains and stories on top of the already good cast. Characters: First we have Faith who is a character that has scares of the past and is a tortured soul. Her story arc and character development are superb. Everything is set up perfect and you feel her trauma and can understand her motives and actions even if you don’t agree. Then weThe best season so far. Her story arc and character development are superb. Everything is set up perfect and you feel her trauma and can understand her motives and actions even if you don’t agree. Then we got Anya(nka). I wont spoil much but lets say her brutal honesty and lack of politeness on top of her character are so enjoyable. Wesley is a good character. He is a bit unlikeable but he was as good prepared as a recruit for war (Not his fault). For the villains. We got the mayor who first seems like a boring bureaucrat but becomes more and more impressive, scary and intimidating. His behavior towards a character I can’t spoil makes him human. I think he genuinely cared and that with his backstory makes him so good. We have then Mr. Trick a snob of a vampire and henchman of the big bad. With Kakistos we had an interesting villain that was used to short. Also there is the First Evil. He (It?) was to good to be wasted and will make a return in a later season. This is a fitting transition as we get an appearance by Spike who has an epiphany about relations, the Master who is more evil than ever and a lesbian vampire alternate form of a character that maybe foreshadows something;-). This time you get the best overarching story arc with the hallmark of the series that you know more than the characters. It is much about Faith and how some unlucky timing / thinks can change your path in life. Buffy is hit hard back by the results of season 2 and has to come to terms with her duty as slayer and daily life as normal human. There is the later quote. The hardest thing in this world is living in it. The interactions between Buffy, Angel, Willow, Giles, Xander, Faith and Wesley are again well executed. This is again a strength by Joss Whedon. He knows how to create, use and develop characters. For my favourite episodes: We have Helpless which gave insights in the relationship between Giles and Buffy and shows more of the Watchers. The Wish shows an alternate world were Buffy has not moved to Sunnydale. This episode alone would improve my rating. Consequences marks a turning point and is a remark that small things can tip the scales. The final two parter Graduation Day is an epic climax and a highlight of the show. Special mention: The prom which is the moment of peace before the final and Enemies with great humour and drawing the lines. Also the spin off Angel starts after this season. Overall this season has surpassed my expectations and solidifies the Buffy legacy.… Expand
