As smart, wistful and funny as ever, the first handful of episodes of Breeders’ final season bode well for what looks to be a well-earned send-off for arguably one of the best series about the joys and pitfalls of trying to be a good (enough) parent.

The series has hit its stride. I’ll miss its cynicism-fuelled sparkle.

Breeders Season 4 feels like it’s building up to a bang that’ll leave us craving more of the Worsleys, but more than anything else, it’s just great to see this series back on track as it looks to wrap up this tale in fine fashion.

Breeders series four, the final series, is all just a bit dour. Forgive us for stating the obvious but there are far fewer jokes than there used to be.
