This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season feels like a bit of a downgrade for Black Mirror as a whole, both in terms of quality of most of the episodes and the themes contained within.
Only two of the episodes are particularly tech based. Beyond the sea is easily the best episode of the season; Dark, Tragic, thought provoking and typical Black Mirror in feel. Joan is awful manages to be quite interesting for about half an hour, before descending into corny and celebrity cameo laden rubbish in its final few minutes. The other episodes are all okay, without feeling particularly profound or meaningful to watch and certainly not very black mirror-esque, with their horror undertones. A series which generally tries to take the show down a different road, and doesn't really succeed in being anything more than an OK drama series.

Episode 1 was good, except for being extremely silly.
2 didn't feel like a Black Mirror episode at all. Neither did 4 or 5.
4 and 5 were awful, in fact.
Episode 3 was excellently performed and shot, but there wasn't much to it.
Incredibly disappointing season compared to all the previous.

Trash. It felt like they asked a bunch of 6th graders to write the show and produced it with a budget of $35,000. No originality, lame and predictable twists which lead to dreadfully boring episode after episode. Don't waste your time if you have even a couple brain cells left, otherwise you can kiss them goodbye afterwards.

These episodes don't have much in common with what I have known Black Mirror for. Seems to be branded as "Black Mirror just to capitalize on the name and not in order to resume the speculative fiction that has been so thoughtful in this great series.

What the hell happened? The show has metaphorically fallen off a cliff. I want to talk to Charlie Booker and ask him how the hell things have gone so sideways. How involved is he in this? Is Netflix pushing him to add political undertones or in the case of "Demon 79", overt political overtones of anti-white and anti conservative messaging. I'm so sick of wokeness ruining Hollywood. That is the best explanation for the dip in quality. Charlie apparently doesn't care about making a good show anymore, he just wants to virtue signal to the people he sees at Hollywood parties.
Season 6 has werewolves, demons, and a bunch of **** that has nothing to do with the core technological theme of the show. It literally is a different show. Why did they even bother calling this Black Mirror? I know Amazon literally has racial quotas and ideological guidelines for the shows that they create, I am guessing Netflix has something similar. How much control did Charlie have over his own creation?

I've always appreciated Black Mirror's wide-ranging views. The episodes are very diverse in their genres and viewpoints - so, it is very difficult to apply a rating to the entire series or just one season. I would think most individuals would find at least one episode from each season that resonates with them. I think it would take a very eclectic personality that could appreciate all or even most of the episodes in a single season.
    ******************************************
I have watched all of the season 6 episodes. I'm going to leave my rating at 8 because I think the writing elevates the series above what I would normally rate a 6 or 7 that any Netflix series with a hefty budget and skilled staff working on the technical quality.

I find the casting and acting to be good - especially in the last episode.

The last episode is a anthological twist that is controversial that suggests that Charlie Booker has somewhat tired of the specific genre of Black Mirror. I find that hard to believe because there or so many sociological issues that modern technology has pushed into the fore in just the last year or two that would make for extremely compelling story lines.

Black Mirror is a sad reflection of today's streaming entertainment. Gone are the mind bending and nightmarish technological tales, replaced sadly with overlong hollow shells packed with progressive messaging and little else. This season is bad, and as a fan of the the first two seasons, that's a real shame - 2 stars, because the concept for episode one was interesting.

Only episode 3 was worth watching yet very predictable, the 1 and 4 (female directed, it's a big hint) are the worst of all the seasons, no surprises.

Somewhat disappointed with this season. It leans towards fantasy and horror and away from the titular black mirror of technophobic nightmare scapes from previous seasons (I assume this is because the world itself has slowly become one!). Interesting and entertaining for the most part.

The most predictable and boring stories. They all could have been cut in half. I mean some of these are as long as a film but have a fraction of the substance necessary for an engaging story.. just cliched and contrite.

Total and utter disgust at how someone deals with bullies...by torturing them.

Just because someone was bullied when they were young, does not mean they can write a TV show in which there is nothing cathartic to enjoy, just pure joy in seeing people suffer.

Darkness is only seductive if you have not been taught how to look for the light.

Episode 1: kind of funny, but very cynical and silly at the end.
    Episode 2: good and tragic.
Episode 3: the best one; makes you wonder about how avatars would be received by society.
Episode 4: the worst one; the supernatural element is dumb.
Episode 5: not bad; it reminded me of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities, but it doesn't fit into Black Mirror.

Overall, the writing (except for season 6), acting, and direction are high-quality, and the implicit warnings of problematic futures that could arise are usually believable... and frightening.

But season 6 mostly abandons the Black Mirror premise. While two of the five episodes have a tech component to the story, there's nothing really prophetic about them, though some viewers may choose to interpret "Joan Is Awful" to be prophetic (I found it mostly just silly -- not believable as a potential future). The other tech-related episode, "Beyond The Sea", is interesting and well-done, but I see nothing in contemporary life that hints at the story as a potential future, and the writers even chose to make it as part of an alternate past. That said, this episode was the most Black Mirror-esque of all of season 6. The other three episodes just feel out of place; two are supernatural, and one is a sort of murder mystery. "Demon 79" was actually really fun, but, again, felt totally out of place as a BM episode.

So, if you're a fan of dystopian sci-fi, you can't go wrong with seasons 1-5. Be aware that season 6 is a very different experience, and despite the episodic structure of the series, I'd watch it in order -- definitely don't start with season 6.
