Season 4 isn't as strong as the previous 3 seasons due to lots of rehashed ideas, such as in "Crocodile", and "Black Museum". However, there are a few standout episodes such as "Hang the DJ" and "U.S.S. Calister" that reminds us why and how technology that currently/will exist, can haunt us.

Warning . . . This season is more partisan and more politically correct than you can possibly imagine. It’s a Netflix show anyway, and if you are on season 4 . . . No suprises there.

I really liked about half the episodes, and the other half are pretty bad, but I still felt the bad ones were worth watching.

Do not miss episode 4, and episode 1 was pretty good too. I can’t really reccommend the others, and if you can’t tolerate the absolutely worst political correct stuff from America, then definitely skip the last episode . . . If you don’t heed my advice on that, you’ll wish you did, and thank me for that.

If you can ignore it, it won't be a problem. But there's definitely some innovation or level of quanity that the next season of this show must boost. It seems the ideas tossed around here have been either done before, or the leading up to payoff in previous episodes with similar ideas allowed you to come up with explanations that seem to have been done in this season. Overall this series carries with it a softer, more positive tone than the one prior, so I found it easier to watch multiples in a binge session. USS Callister, Hang The DJ, Crocodile and Black Museum are standout material that leaves an impact whereas Arkangel does well to further themes of surveillance & alienation that had explored in the previous seasons. Lastly, Metalhead is perhaps most unique dystopian that Charlie Brooker has penned in terms of sheer hopelessness and desperation it manisfests in the story and its viewers.
Please be patient with these series and take your time to absorb it. For if you hurry and convince yourself it's just overrated (which in and of itself is a overrated word, as my friend says), you'll miss out something worthy of your valuable time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As always, Black Mirror is great at provoking interesting thoughts and raising difficult and important questions, but it's really not keen to deeply explore them. It uses science concepts mainly to build a groundwork for character's emotional journey, but sometimes treat human behaviour as lightly (for example un USS Callister, digital version of Nannete, upon finding herself in a terrible situation, forgets about self-preservation instincts and strives to commit suicide at all costs without even trying to consider miserable but nevertheless existence over death). This approach culminates in Black's Museum episode, where we get 3 stories squashed in 1 episode, which leaves no room to any development of ideas or characters.

This makes the series stop short of being truly great and timeless, but still for today's television it's a unique and bold work, that will make you look at our modern world at a new angle.

Half-way through the season and Black Mirror looks like it will be staying on Netflix for a long time.

Hang The DJ: This is so realistic , it will make you doubt your very existence. My favorite episode of the season.
Metalhead : This episode was a low for me. Even though it's creative is outstanding we still didn't find out why they are doing this and why weren't their more dogs in the first place (last scene).

Black Museum : is the best episode of the season, It is last season's San Junipero. The content is amazing, I'm simply speechless.

"Hang the DJ": Episódio extremamente bem colocado na coleção de Black Mirror, no entanto, o episódio pareceu-se demasiado com "San Junipero".

"Metalhead": Adorei a ideia de produzirem um episódio a preto e branco, pois funcionou perfeitamente bem. A ideia dos "cachorros" robóticos foi inteligente.

Season 4 is uneven. Three stories--“USS Callister,” “Black Museum” and “Hang the DJ”--are far superior to the others. There is much more graphic sex (albeit hilariously depicted in “DJ”) and violence than in past seasons.
