The reviews left about this show are disappointing. Wether regarding fad diets, or alternative medicines, the man is providing information to all with sound evidence as to why these alternative ideas are in fact wrong. Peoples own cognitive bias has made them feel attacked by Bill's show which is simply an attempt at debunking the crazy ideas they believed to be true in the first place. We should not be hating this man for telling us what we need to hear, we should be thanking him. Thank you Bill. Expand

The first episode appears to be the weakest. Although Nye's concerns about climate change are 100% valid and he is passionate about saving the planet, the scriptwriters for Episode 1 were a bit incoherent. Either that or Nye is ad-libbing, which is not recommended because he's not that good at it. It's been almost 20 years since Bill Nye the Science Guy ended, and Nye is still zany, energetic, and over the top with enthusiasm about science and science education. This series is for adults and not children, but for better or worse, when it comes to science education, children are the priority. As a great fan of science museums, I've had to cross a number of favorite museums off my list since my kids grew up. And of those science museums that try to target adults for at least half of their exhibits, the best they can achieve is high-school level. However, if you didn't major in science, high-school level exhibits can be beneficial to many non-scientific adults.

Nye is apparently aiming for that same high-school level science education that we find in museums. However, his high spirits may be his undoing because sometimes he's all over the set in a manner that is blithely hyperactive. Episode 2 focuses on alternative medicine, and outside of Nye's frenetic demonstration of how clinical trials work, the second episode was more purposeful and elucidative. If this improvement continues, the series shows real promise.

This series boldly addresses deep and important contemporary issues, from the perspective of science. Already it therefore deserves a high score from me. This series is fantastic. It throws back to when i was growing up learning about random things every day. And Bill Nye the Science Guy will forever be the person that did that for me. Watch it with a light heart and an open mind and you might learn a thing or two. I hope this show keeps running, I think it is important

This show is good. While, as other people have mentioned, the tone is a bit confused, I think it will really take off once they make get to know their audience.

This is not a great show. The tone and presentation are off. The jokes fall flat. It says it is aimed at adults, but Nye acts as if he is talking to children.
But this is far from a terrible show. This is not a science show; He is not called "the science guy."

This is a show about important topics: global warming, gender spectrum, etc. Each show is under 30 minutes. If you are one of the people complaining there is no science or sources, use the Internet. Try doing a search. You watched it on Netflix. Surely you know how to use a search engine.
I think this show is good for the 11-14 year range. The talking heads might bore some of them, but the information presented might make them better people.
Again, this is not a great show, but people are giving it 0 or 1 stars for the same reason the United States has Trump for president. This review is going to get a lot of negative reviews for the same reason. Oh well. It is time for the human race to die off anyway.

Bill Nye Saves the World is a convivial series that imports elements from Nye’s old series (mainly those amusing demos with bubbling colorful liquids, Bunsen burners and flasks) into a format that resembles “The Daily Show.”

While Bill Nye Saves the World is a relatively modest enterprise by Netflix's standards, it is, overall, an admirable addition to its lineup. If it's not quite a rescue mission, Nye appears to have taken to heart the concept of trying to provide a small beacon of light rather than just cursing the darkness.

Bill Nye Saves the World is just not that entertaining a show all-around. While the format is geared to adults, the content is too simple to be of interest to them. For kids who might try to watch, all the talking heads will be a bore.
