Puberty can be an intriguing topic to cover if done cleverly thought out way.

Big Mouth fails to do so. It's just a mix of cliche's and dick jokes, it's something so simplistic, and on the nose, a 10-year-old could understand it. The comedy is too quick. Timing is so crucial with comedy, but it feels like any logic around giving a joke breathing room has been thrown out the window

It's not that "talking about sex is bad and crass," many TV shows can pull off ideas like this in an ingenious way (Rick and Morty, South Park), but Big Mouth is a dull, unoriginal show that is a retelling of the same stories that other TV shows handled in a far superior nature.

If you like loud and screaming characters, terrible animation, lack of depth or themes, lousy writing, poorly timed comedy and predictable gross-out dick jokes, then this show is for you.

All the critics say the same garbage that doesn't mean anything "It's an edgy show that has crude jokes and kids as the main characters." Wow, what an amazingly original idea, it's not like dozens of TV shows have thought of that one before you Nick Kroll.

If you have any taste in television, give this show a pass and watch South Park, BoJack Horseman or Archer.

Was expecting a smart show with interesting situations. It's basically just plain dick jokes that you could make yourself. It as if your dumb friend came over and just made obnoxious and unfunny crude jokes whenever you would try to talk to him. There's potential, but the humor is lacking.

In its attempt to be funny, Big mouth ultimately fails. Netflix's attempt to rival shows like Family Guy and South Park resulted in a mess of a show that gets its kicks from child porn jokes. It even pokes fun at itself for it. I found a couple of things funny but about 98% was garbage. Even though there is no story, the hormone monsters and the ghosts make no sense. I really don't understand the hype of this show. Most of us enjoy dirty humor especially when it's cleverly layered into a t.v show, but that isn't what Big Mouth is. It's just 5 second loops of **** and dick jokes and riding on famous people references and events you will relate too. One example is the ghost of Justice Antonin Scalia tells one of the characters he's gay...that's it. TheI really don't understand the hype of this show. Really the only character that gave me a laugh was that hormone monster. The rest was cheap comedy. Please stop comparing it to Rick and Morty.

What starts off as a cute and clever cartoon that takes a look at the absurity of going through puberity slowly gets really weird, starts to go off the tracks and strays from what made it good to begin with.

This is the most appalling excuse for a TV show I have ever seen. This is what cartoons are meant for: going through the horror and comedy of the most awkward time in anyones life (puberty), all while sparing real child actors from sacrificing their youth/innocence for childhood fame. It is raunchy, it is crude and it is hilarious. The hormone monsters are just too good.

This show is anything but funny, The humour is so horribly dull that I found myself changing the show within the first half of the first episode, and I did not regret it when I tried to watch it again. Big Mouth tries to be funny and had one or two moments, but is really just a waste of time buried under a mound of stupid and unlaughable potty humour.

This show is needlessly rude, crass, and doesn't tackle the subject matter respectively. Ideas are wasted, and its constantly screaming. I can only imagine edgy teens liking this.

This show hides behind breaking taboo when all it really is is a cartoon that lets you watch little kids jerk off and have sex with pillows and little girl vagina. Not all taboos should be smashed

Not for the faint of heart but funny as all get out. Belongs on the shelf with Rick and Morty. Smart. Observant. Well acted. And solid writing that manages to sidestep most easy cliches and tropes. I haven’t laughed so hard since, well, the last episode of a Rick and Morty. :)

It's very obvious that the show was co-created by a Family Guy writer, since it's basically an unfunny

Revolting, unfunny, preachy, and derivative, Big Mouth is one of the worst animated shows I've ever seen. Even the animation is ugly and offputting. It's also full of whiny SJW politics and just as you'd expect that absolutely kills any hope of real humor making an appearance. Skip this terrible show.

Transforming puberty into a comic, ironic and perverted creature was just nonsense, which is why this show is great! Everyone can relate to most of the situations shown here and even if some are cringe-worthy, they're reason for loud laughter now, not embarrassment.

I love much of the cast, but everything about it from the disturbing lips on the characters to the … ugghh, just no. Who is this show for ? Why would an adult want to watch it ? Why would a teen want to watch it ?

I love that this animated series are going further than anyone (I think) has gone before. It is a fantastic coming of age story, making the struggle being in puberty like fun and even a little informative. Hormone Monster is my absolute favourite! I am 40 years old, and this is the funniest thing I have seen in years!

A small cast of kids try to get through middle school while invisible hormone monsters appears to curse them with erections, periods, etc. It's kind of a generic premise, but where the show eventually excels is how it depicts the kind of puberty-themed stories that might often be ignored for being too extreme or racy without just making the kids feel bad about themselves.

It's not exactly the funniest show on Netflix, but by some weird accident it might be one of the best for kids. Like, middle school kids. Not little kids. This is of course coming with the understanding that they'll be seeing genitals, cuss words and constant allusions to bizzare pornography, but the lessons being taught by the show only really need to be learned by kids anyways.

As an adult watching Big Mouth, I could appreciate what it was trying to do but can't say the messages it delivered are terribly meaningful to me. I've already done this stuff. But for a 12-15 year old kid, who already watches Family Guy, YouTube videos and obviously porn when they're alone, it could actually be kind of helpful. Give it a quick watch on your own, maybe skip to a middle episode as it takes a few to actually get good, and see what you think. If you think your kid can handle it, maybe show it to them. If not, or if you just want to watch it as an adult, you get a mediocre comedy with a surprisingly effective emotional core and a little re-training on how masturbation works and why it's okay. It's nothing revolutionary if you're past puberty, but it's at least a cute show trying its very best to be ugly and crass.

If Big Mouth were just a series of jokes about how weird and gross puberty is, it wouldn’t be much more than a decent way to kill some time during a slow weekend. But the show achieves a new, deeper level of comedy by remaining hyper aware of the fact that puberty isn’t just about bodies changing, but about what it means to grow up at all.

There’s a frankness and honesty beneath the show’s raunchiness that sometimes echo the best work of Judy Blume and other great chroniclers of adolescent angst, especially where the fraught and seldom-discussed feelings of boys are involved. It’s charming and repulsive all at once.
