    This is what cartoons are meant for: going through the horror and comedy of the most awkward time in anyones life (puberty), all while sparing real child actors from sacrificing their youth/innocence for childhood fame. It is raunchy, it is crude and it is hilarious. The hormone monsters are just too good.

    Not for the faint of heart but funny as all get out. Belongs on the shelf with Rick and Morty. Smart. Observant. Well acted. And solid writing that manages to sidestep most easy cliches and tropes. I haven’t laughed so hard since, well, the last episode of a Rick and Morty. :)

    It's honest, in your face and hilarious. Do they push the envelope at times? You bet and it's done very well. Completely filthy, but totally relatable. I love this show.

    They tackle some difficult subject matter and social taboos and do a solid job. I think this is a strong first season and the characters will only get better with time.

    Transforming puberty into a comic, ironic and perverted creature was just nonsense, which is why this show is great! Everyone can relate to most of the situations shown here and even if some are cringe-worthy, they're reason for loud laughter now, not embarrassment.

    I love that this animated series are going further than anyone (I think) has gone before. It is a fantastic coming of age story, making the struggle being in puberty like fun and even a little informative. Hormone Monster is my absolute favourite! I am 40 years old, and this is the funniest thing I have seen in years!

    This show is a 7,5... its good, but i thing people dont understand what it is... its a show about how it feels like growing up... yes it got some gross stuff that somtimes goes a bit overbored... and a few charecters is made into **** at the end, but there is still so mutch to laugh at... especially if you can rember some of them from your own time growing up.

    This show is smart, funny, novel, and well voiced (Maya Rudolph's Hormone Monstress in particular). But it is definitely not for the prudish or the faint of heart.

    It's not exactly the funniest show on Netflix, but by some weird accident it might be one of the best for kids. Like, middle school kids. Not little kids. This is of course coming with the understanding that they'll be seeing genitals, cuss words and constant allusions to bizzare pornography, but the lessons being taught by the show only really need to be learned by kids anyways.

    As an adult watching Big Mouth, I could appreciate what it was trying to do but can't say the messages it delivered are terribly meaningful to me. I've already done this stuff. But for a 12-15 year old kid, who already watches Family Guy, YouTube videos and obviously porn when they're alone, it could actually be kind of helpful. Give it a quick watch on your own, maybe skip to a middle episode as it takes a few to actually get good, and see what you think. If you think your kid can handle it, maybe show it to them. If not, or if you just want to watch it as an adult, you get a mediocre comedy with a surprisingly effective emotional core and a little re-training on how masturbation works and why it's okay. It's nothing revolutionary if you're past puberty, but it's at least a cute show trying its very best to be ugly and crass.    … Expand

    Even with the good reviews (like a 100% on rotten tomatoes OMG) I still thought this was your typical adult cartoon with humor that just disgusts you and pisses you off. But no it was able to be show that gave some unexpectedly good humor and likable characters. However my real rating is 6.5 out of ten because the episodes range from passable at worst, To decently enjoyable at best.Even with the good reviews (like a 100% on rotten tomatoes OMG) I still thought this was your typical adult cartoon with humor that just disgusts you and pisses you off. My favorite episode is Sleepover: A Harrowing Ordeal of Emotional Brutality because it is action pact with Nick and Andrews plot being by far the best thing to come out of big mouth way better than anything else in the series.… Expand

    Absolutely superb! Both Hormone Monsters steal every scene. Brilliantly captures the spirit of puberty in all it's nasty glory. Not a single episode where I wasn't rolling on the floor. Bring on season 2!

    Big Mouth's inappropriateness is what makes it genius however it also hinders it from being a classically innovative and funny show. As its dark humour is in the same vein as Bojack Horseman it will probably last several seasons, but not necessarily be rewatchable.

    One of the best new shows on TV, Big Mouth explores the awkwardness and hilarity of puberty with refreshingly obscene wit and original animated visuals. (I wish this show was on when I was in high school.)

    Big Mouth is an adult animated show that is about something that we all go through... puberty. The season is just the right length at ten episodes and all of the characters were really fun with some solid comedians behind the voices. I had some good laughs in every episode. The characters capture the confusion of starting to become young adults and a lot of awkwardness ensues.     A really funny and crude show. if you are easily offended don not watch this show. Each episode is full of jokes and doesn't hold back on the content. The show tackles its main plot puberty in a great way as it pokes fun at it while still connecting with the audience who have gone through it.     Hilarious!! But be warned: it will be extremely awkward if you try to watch this with someone that doesn't have this sense of humor.
    The first episodes were great, I'd give this show a 9 or 10 if it wouldn't have had so many episodes. By the end of the season the last few episodes weren't as great.

    This comedy made me laugh every episode. Most shows start slow and aren't that funny but big mouth is funny from the start. If you like Family Guy, South Park, or any animated comedies you'll enjoy Big Mouth. Can't wait for season 2.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. He visto la serie dos veces y he de reconocer que la primera vez que la visione me quede tan impactado que no me hizo gracia. Después de relajarme y no sentir el efecto ohhh pude apreciar todos los matices que nos muestra.
    Los personajes tienen problemas normales y se enfrentan a ellos como lo hemos mucho de nosotros. Es ahí donde radica lo especial de esta serie.
    Los respectivos monstruos son esa parte de nosotros que nos humaniza. Entiendo y respeto a la gente que se siente impresionada pero creo que es muy divertida solo debemos darle una oportunidad.

    Cleverly good. You can easily identify yourself with the characters, all references to pop culture are extremely humorous, we can watch the events of puberty in a hilariously vulgar way. Sometimes it is kind of strange when they mix the reality of the situation with fiction, but overall it’s a great show.

    I love this kind of humour, it's gross as hell, deeply witty and unlike Family guy and South Park, isn't out to offend everyone. Actually it has a real soft heart to it and cares deeply about it's characters and the issues they face. Very intelligent writing, great acting and just a lot of fun.

    Quite hilarious and shows in funny, bizarre and at the same time clever manner how puberty is. It's hard not identify yourself watching Big Mouth. Although some characters being irritable, show still is a memorable comedy.

    Embora aparente ser uma série debochante, Big Mouth entrega uma das melhores animações de 2017. o próposito da série é mostrar o que os adolescentes pensam , suas dúvidas, sua sexualidade, seus desejos e anseios. E isso acaba chocando muitos espectadores.

    The reason I started an account on meta today was to review this show. I heard the interview with Terry Gross last night on my way home from work and I was really impressed by the show creators. Previously I'd raised an eyebrow every time I passed it while browsing Netflix because, to be perfectly honest, I kinda hate the art style.     I love it. It is funny and honest about how some entering puberty have difficulty doing so. Those who refuses to see the humor obviously had a great pubescent teen life or is in denial. Most should be able to identify with at least one of the issues discussed in the show.

    Puberty, Animated. It's the best idea ever. Who hasn't been through these things? Unapologetic-ally raunchy, funny and incredibly empathetic. The voice acting delivers!

    Simply put, this show is beautiful. It's witty, funny, honest and very close to real life. It's an uncensored perfectly written gold mine. I Guarantee if you watch this show you'll laugh several times and relate to the show back when you were a teen and going through puberty. The voice acting is perfect and every character has depth. Great, just great.

    This show is brilliant. Clearly not for everyone but easily one of my favorite shows in years -- insanely well done, hilarious, humane (and yes, totally raunchy) take on teen years.

    Started watching Big Mouth because of the reviews and to be honest I wasn't a big fan of the first episode. Luckily I kept watching the show because episode 2 and beyond were quite funny! It's a good raunchy cartoon and perfect for a quick binge.

Nick Kroll has created one of the most painfully funny, and surprisingly true, coming of age series about puberty I've ever seen. I never knew a show this perverted, and this unapologetically filthy, could consistently surprise me with its creativity, its wit, and its unpredictability.Big Mouth is way more hilarious than it has any right to be.     However, that being said, as much as I loved it and as excited as I am for the next season, I could only give it an 8, because fairly often, I don't feel as though Kroll knows where to draw the line between hilariously disgusting, and just disgusting. For example, everything that has to do with the gym teacher, Steve, I wish could just be cut from the show entirely. Not a single thing about him made me laugh, and I found his presence in the show off-putting, gross, and unfunny. I imagine he's intentionally supposed to be an off-putting character, but something about him just doesn't work, and not a single moment where he's around made me laugh.

    I also want to just give a fair warning to anybody reading this, Big Mouth is nasty. Really nasty. This is the nastiest pubescent coming of age comedy I've ever seen, and that is a crowded race. It isn't going to be for everybody, so proceed at your own risk.    … Expand

    I can get behind this show. The humor is good and the premise is good too. It's refreshing and makes me look back on my own childhood and laugh.

    If Big Mouth were just a series of jokes about how weird and gross puberty is, it wouldn’t be much more than a decent way to kill some time during a slow weekend. But the show achieves a new, deeper level of comedy by remaining hyper aware of the fact that puberty isn’t just about bodies changing, but about what it means to grow up at all.

    There’s a frankness and honesty beneath the show’s raunchiness that sometimes echo the best work of Judy Blume and other great chroniclers of adolescent angst, especially where the fraught and seldom-discussed feelings of boys are involved. It’s charming and repulsive all at once.
