The premiere of Best Time Ever was a truly chaotic series of stunts, and enjoyment of it probably derives from just how staged you thought the audience interaction was. Either way, at a certain point it had a manic energy no other variety show of recent decades has come close to capturing, and that in itself is a strange sort of achievement. Read full review

I like the idea of Best Time Ever and would love to see this and Maya Rudolph's variety thing and even live episodes of Undateable encourage more network risk-taking. For that to happen, future episodes will have to be the best time ever for more than just Neil Patrick Harris. Read full review

Watch it yourself. NPH does a wonderful job of engaging the audience in thoughtful ways that have never before been done in television, all while hosting a complex live show. Lastly, it is hilarious and constantly improving.

This was great! I thought it would be cr@p given the"0" and "1" reviews. Even if it's not your style, the quality, alone should warrant a 5 or 6! Watch the 9/25 episode. I was very pleasantly surprised!!! Lots of stars, talent, humor, fun, and, for the most part, an excellent show.

Clearly people don't enjoy organized chaos. This show is fantastic, it is amazingly chaotic and hilarious. Yes celebrities like to have fun and prank each other just as much as we do to each other. They are humans also. He has done some amazing things for some of the people that have come onClearly people don't enjoy organized chaos. This show is boring and seems very staged. It's like a bad rip-off of the Ellen Show. It's terrible to watch and sitting in the audience while the show decides what skits they think work must be like rotting in hell for all eternity.

This program sucks big time! Go watch the original "Saturday Night Takeaway" on YouTube and see how good it could have been. This show also proves that NPH is no Ant & Dec, not by a long shot! When it's not ripping off ideas straight form the original version, "Best Time Ever" (the terms are used very generously) degenerates into nothing more than noise and confusion. Yes I know, ITV and Ant & Dec are all involved with the American version, but NBC would have been better off showing the ITV/Ant & Dec version ("Saturday Night Takeaway") instead. Thank goodness "BTE" only has another 7 weeks to go.… Expand

"Variety Show" must mean different things to different people. This was just a headache inducing, manic, amorphous reality show that was constructed of used parts from several other cheesy reality shows. It's terrible -- rehearsed spontaneity. Banter between host/guest host: fake... 1st segment to 'surprise' that married couple: fake... Doubtful that this one will last a full season.
