A junk in every sense. All the scenes are ridiculous, pointless dialogues, all racist and LGBT story, sex scenes and totally feminist.
Blackening the corrupt characters of comic skin is a very ۷wrong thing to do.
Do not waste your time at all.

The show has some budget, lots of source material, and a pleasant distance to any expectations. Same as the She-Ra remake. And everything that went well there is missing here. No passion, no sense of adventure, no conflict below the surface, no stakes, nothing to say, no interest to take a risk or do anything except collecting a paycheck.
But if the people making the show obviously don't care - why should I?

And I want to add: It feels a lot like the show tries to compensate its lack in depth by dabbling in really serious topics, like child abuse or mental illness. And my tip is: don't.… Expand

I thought the first season was a little weak, I didn't like Ruby Rose's acting and the scripts were pretty weak. Now in season two again I found the scripts ridiculous until the part where she suffers from Kryptonite poisoning. All that's left is to arrest Alice, who is getting annoying. I think it will be a shot in the foot if they don't finish her cycle this second season. I know some of the actress and actors are trying, but the writing is so bad, and there is absolutely no respect for the source material. I watched the whole series. For those people who haven't seen it yet and are wondering if it's worth it, the answer is a big fat NO. This series is written awfully and 1/3 of the episodes are an insult to anyone who has even thought ofI watched the whole series. This series is written awfully and 1/3 of the episodes are an insult to anyone who has even thought of working as a screenwriter. The acting is lacking, the special effects are gross and often insufficient. Narrative coherence (and logic in general) are almost absent. Even the soundtracks are ugly: repetitive and devoid of any semblance of originality.
I think the best episode is a 4/10. The series as an average is around 2/ 10.
For anyone who is a fan of Batman & Co. and hopes to find something pleasant and intriguing in this series, change your mind and avoid this TV series like the plague.… Expand

This show has nothing going for it, (except for Rachel Skarsten, who is sexy and talented, but she alone is not enough for me to even give this filth even a 1 rating) the characters are all morons, boring, unlikable, and as lifeless as my pet hermit crab in 3rd grade, all of the actors are complete talentless embarrassments (except for rachel)the writing is not even Dr Seuss level, because at least there a lesson to be learned from the cat n the hat, or green eggs n ham. There are so many plot holes that instead of homophobes, they need to be worrying about all the tyrpophobes they are triggering with this elephant diarrhea. I literally start itching and scratching my face and arms and nuts because this show makes no sense. The characters in this show have 0 development, and never learn their lesson. The MC only cares about herself, is completely hearltess and cruel, and constantly does villainous things, like gladly murdering people, with no remorse. She holds no value to human life she utter slaughters more people in cold blood than the texas chainsaw massacre with ZERO hesitation but she is supposed to be the next batman? who wrote this? They need to be thrown into Arkham, and suspended 9 feet in the air upside down by a chain. wearing a straightjacket, and one of those hannibal lecter hockey half mask things, facing the opposite direction from the door In the most secure padded cell with no windows or lightbulbs, on the secret bottom most floor, deep underground that has no button on the elevator, because this guy is BATshxt crazy. I wonder what is stronger, Posion Ivy’s lust for sex, or Kate Kane’s lust for blood. the camera work is disgraceful, it’s like some middle school kid trying to record a fight at the bus stop with his tracfone the way the camera is shaking around, and how weird the angles are. It makes my eyes pop blood vessels and throb, and catch fire, it makes my head spin and literally ache, I feel like i got hit with a concussion grenade. The director should be sued until he is wearing nothing but miss matched socks. Kate is an idiot who does just about everything besides shout “I am Kate Kane” into the heavens, to let her secret identity be known to the public. The character designs are all terrible, Batwoman has the most terrible bat suit in the history of anything Bat related and it’s not even up for debate, it looks like a porno parody outfit. they really thought they had daredevil level costume design with that one, but no.. it’s just puke. Whatever episode you’re on just know anything that happened 3 episodes ago...didn’t happen, because it doesn’t matter. Shoot, sometimes crap that happened 10 minutes ago in the same episode doesn’t matter, so scratch that, just think....nothing matters, it’s easier that way. I get so angry watching this waste that a clech my fist until my palms bleed. The writing is liquid fart sauce for people who have fricken whiplash or amnesia or short turn memory loss or something. Maybe all 3. The new trailer for season 2 isn’t any better. This retcon of a new character to take on the batwoman mantle is retarded. Why didn’t they just recast Kate Kane? Now Alice (not only the best character, but the only character that even remotely came close to being anything that could even be considered a character) is completely useless. And it looks like this new Batwoman will be an even bigger serial murderer than Ruby Rose’s Kate, and Ben Affleck’s Batman combined, she’ll probably be terrorizing the streets of gotham like you terrorize the city of Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto. And it’s no thanks to Luke, the guy who will continue to get walked all over like a doormat the by this new Batwoman the same way Kate did, the guy who suddenly wants to be all “Batwoman doesn’t kill” when.....Batwoman DID kill... Kate DID Kill... and you know what he said to her? “Batman killed too, Joker’s not in arkham kate bleuuh” literally if you like this show, please stop watching comic book television, just shut the power off to your entire house, and sit in silence on the floor like spongebob during that one episode with that penny the pringle, and that used snot paper, because you have gone insane and don’t deserve the pleasure of fictional entertainment. Season 1 was very entertaining. I love the characters, the storyline and the action scenes. The pilot episode is way too packed and isn't a really good start, but the show quickly gets better. The acting is outstanding especially from Rachel Skarsten and Ruby Rose. The stunts are awesome and very well executed. The costumes were stupendous especially the ones that Ruby Rose, Rachel Skarsten, Nicole Kang, and Elizabeth Anweis wore. The makeup and hairstyling was excellent especially on Ruby Rose and Rachel Skarsten. The writing and storylines are superb, I love the alternate Earth sister storyline. For these people it is more important to spend time trashing something then to just simply ignore it, which is the normal thing to do with things you do not like.

And now the show.
Like the other DC shows this is good enough to be entertaining.
The main character is likable enough. The actress play the character well enough.
The villans on the other hand is on the weak side, she lacks the things that makes a good or even decend villain, she simple does not look, sound, or act enough like a great villain and that hurts the show.
The side characters are hit and miss. Some fits and act as they should, others are misscase or simple wrote in a poor way.

The writing is okay, not great, not bad, just middle of the line okay.

The political stuff. Yes it is here, then again if you actually know anything at all about comic books you know that this is not something strange. Is it in your face all the time? No, it is not. Actually, when it is there it does not feel forced like the shows trailer would make you think.

In short, after watching 11 episodes more then the 0-1 people: A decent show.… Expand

I was honestly looking forward to this show. I was expecting CW to do something different but they did the same with this show that they do with the others. They're all geared toward today's politically correct and arrogant youth. I used to watch Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl. One thing that really bothers me about them all is how they all seem to have the need to have gays in the show. Arrow was probably the most guilty because it seemed that every other character showing up was gay! Another ridiculous thing about Arrow was how he had his own little band of crimefighters that looked more like they were refugees from the movie Kick Ass! Flash had included a episode where the police captain turned out to be gay and there was an apartment fire where his partner was in danger. This had NO inpact on the episode at all and was only put in there just to make a PC point, like the rest of them. What about Legends where Sara turned a future queen gay? The When Supergirl's half sister suddenly decided to switch teams I thought that's it, I'm done. The only show that is worth anything on the CW is Supernatural and unfortunately that's coming to an end. And when Supernatural is done with the CW, so am I.… Expand

There's a lot of hate out there for this show and it's wholly undeserved. Kate Kane feels a lot like she is in the comics. The setting and scenes makes you -feel- Gotham.

I was really alienated by this series, I just couldn't warm to the main character--I just don't understand why they took it in this way. I was thinking DC was taking off, but this one really crashed and burned and corkscrewed into the ground.

Having watched only the two first episodes all I can say is that it is less loaded with gender politics than the trailers showed. However, the show alters the origin story of the main character to justify her antagonistic stance towards Batman. There is no good reason why Batwoman needs to antagonize Batman in order to be her own character, and the original runs of Batwoman in Detective Comics prove it. But then again, you don't need to despise men in order to be a smart, independent woman, which the current progressive thinking seems to ignore. The writing is ok by CW standards, meaning you will need to disconnect your logic and / or common sense to enjoy the show. The acting is all over the place depending on the character. The kids are terrible. Ruby Rose is not bad at all, but some of her lines are simply ridiculous, and I don't think she has the experience to compensate that with a masterful delivery or the power to demand a change to the script. If you are not a fundamentalist from any of the ideological factions making this show their private battlefield, I would recommend watching a couple more episodes. If it becomes heavy-handed with the identity politics, cut your loses and watch something else. Or, if you are interested in the original character, read Detective Comics issues 854 to 863. My understanding is that they are sold together as a graphic novel for 25 bucks, so you don't have to break the bank. And they are good.… Expand

Gay, gay, gay. Got it? I'm gay. Yeah, we get it, now do the show. Other than then not much time for the rest of the show. Overacting main villain, or rather a parody of villain - Alice. And.. Yeah, you guessed it, Batwoman is gay, all females are super strong, and all meals are bumbling idiots, including a black version of Alfred...
And Batwoman is gay.

Теперь вместо сюжета, нам пихают доброго чёрного гея и злого белого гетеросексуального злодея. Знаете, фанаты Star Wars, фанаты Marvel и остальные кто поддерживает такие пропагандистские проекты, это вы виноваты, спрос рождает предложение. Я зарегистрировался, чтобы только написать под этим сериалом, что я о вас всех думаю. Иногда наступают смутные времена, но иногда и светлые, это неотъемлемая часть жизни, так что радуйтесь, снимайте фильмы/сериалы, пропагандируйте свой образ жизни ведь в конечном итоге, как только разумные люди перестанут это смотреть компании резко переосмыслят, то что они делают сейчас, они стараются ради денег. When seeing the trailer I first thought it was a right-wing parody of current day woke filmmaking, turns out it wasnt.

What you have here is a show that exists solely to make a point about how a strong independant lesbian woman needs no man.
Everything is built around that, leading to a main character that comes across as a massive tryhard wannabe without any actual self-confidence or character and who constantly thinks she has to prove to everyone that she is stronger/better than them, especially stronger than any man.
But I guess thats just what a character needs to be so the average feminist can relate to her...

The problem is a combination of really poor writing and really poor acting. Ruby Rose is the right person for the basics of this role. But the moment they try to include some emotional scenes it falls flat as she doesn't have the acting range for it.

Her character appears to be heavily based on CW's Oliver Queen. Similar gruff exterior. The main difference is that Stephen Amell portrays a character with gruff exterior and hints of hidden emotion. Ruby Rose portrays a character with gruff exterior and the hidden emotional fortitude of a paper bag. At times it feels like she just can't be bothered to pretend that she cares about her character or any of the characters.

Rose's portrayal aside, the story feels like it has been thrown together from a combination of the most boring bits of other DC TV Series and movies with the actors lines being written by a high school English student.

I love the CW DC shows so I'm holding out hope that this improves, but right now it just feels like a show that's DOA.… Expand

While taste is subjective and Batwoman isn't a mind-blowing show straight out of the gate, the show is promising and much-appreciated by its LGBTQIA+ fanbase. While the Arrowverse is generally quite diverse and accepting, those values are sprinkled in and grow in other shows while Batwoman jumps right into the deep end in episode one. This earned accolades from myself and my peers, but from conservatives, this is offputting and makes the show a target. Instead of watching the show and forming an opinion, they don't give it a chance. I myself thought that the show was less political than the trailers implied, though those are of course made tailored to however they want to advertize the show. It is politically correct without being pushy, if you watch the show and not just the trailer or fanboy reviews. It's a shame that more people don't give the show a chance, because the complex relationships are in themselves engaging. Of course, you can expect some family drama with Kate being related to Batman, but her other family members had a few surprises in store. Not just the big one you might expect, but one I didn't see coming from a character I didn't think would get recognition or have much of a role. The show is gaining its footing and learning how to write its characters, and so far they're on the right track to having strong female representation, character development, and relationships that shape the narrative. Just seen first episode and it's the worst thing I could have ever seen. Montage, script, directory - everything sucks! And of course it's full of feminism and lgbt stuff, so every second it's getting worse and worse.
