    The mystery of what happened between the Chambers family kidnapping more than a year ago and the present day slowly builds, with the show’s writers, brothers Harry and Jack Williams, cleverly skipping between past and present.

    The writers Harry and Jack Williams can be wilfully abstruse, here giving us the old split timeline device, which feels too much like hard work. ... Luckily, Shaw's performance was pitch-perfect and Karyo has that same stillness and weighty presence that holds any scene.

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. The first two episodes of Baptiste Season 2 are promising and intriguing. Sadly, the 3rd episode pushed the limits of my suspension of disbelief. The three remaining episodes simply violate any sense of logic, human behavior and thought process. The writers grasp of police procedures is at best simplistic and absurdly in error. The story arc wants to weave a complex web among politicians, right wing terrorists and the main characters but it does not succeed because of inexplicable inconsistencies, logic flaws and a puerile representation human behavior.

    It was mystifying how the terrorist organization morphed from a large group to just two people in the final act. The jail escape could not have been any less plausible if the writers tried. The entire story arc around Gomorrah was so weak and inconsistent that I felt insulted.    … Full Review »
