Part business meltdown, part crime mystery, part media critique, and part “tales of Ashley Madison,” it’s a look at the married-people hookup site that’s plenty salacious and definitely not monotonous.
-
A standard-issue recap of this saga, told through the eyes of a handful of insiders, journalists, and families that were devastated by the release of their confidential information.
-
There is no need to watch Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal if you already watched The Ashley Madison Affair. But if you haven’t, it’s an entertaining — if cringe-inducing — docuseries about the dating site and how its users got exposed when its weak security was breached.

There could have been more depth, and some intriguing strands are left to dangle, but as with the leak itself, it proves very difficult to look away.

Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal is a tawdry, depressing tale told with lip-smacking, clickbaity relish by the film-makers. .... But it does have generous interviewees, by which I mean people willing to tell all on camera.
-
All clickbait tease with precious little substance to back it up, Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal turned out to be as grubby as the website that spawned it. It offers no ending at all, let alone a happy one.
