The third starts like it has found a good balance between character development and storytelling. While we get to know more of Ash's past, there's a lot happening behind the curtains. So far, so groovy.

Seasons 1 and 2 were lots of fun; a 70/30 comedy/horror mix that was imaginative and nuts, with Bruce Campbell once again breezy fun as ash.

In season 3 they flipped the ratio, offering up less and less comedy in favor of increasingly joyless horror and tedious, repetitive action. By the final episodes I was skipping through just to find out how it all ended. Apparently ratings

Apparently ratings really dropped this season, so I'm calling it an unforced error. You can't create a comedy show and then go full horror without expecting to lose some fans. Even if the series hadn't been cancelled I was going to give up on it.

Adored the first season, loved the second (except for the sh!tty season finale), but I gotta say I'm kinda lukewarm on this third season, it was just more of the same. My main problem is that this season lacked the originality and inventiveness of the previous two. The whole concept of season 3 is uninspired, in the right hands it could have had the potential to be great, but unfortunatelyAdored the first season, loved the second (except for the sh!tty season finale), but I gotta say I'm kinda lukewarm on this third season, it was just more of the same. My main problem is that this season lacked the originality and inventiveness of the previous two. The whole concept of season 3 is uninspired, in the right hands it could have had the potential to be great, but unfortunately it wasn't... it was quite conventional and trite. Episodes became formulaic and mechanical, lacking the fun unpredictability of the movies. The characters, even Ash, became less and less interesting. I mean, I like Lucy Lawless, but the character of Ruby is just so f#cking boring at this point, the same with Kelly and Pablo honestly, none of them were that great to begin with, but they paired nicely with Bruce Campbell's charisma. Unfortunately the writers did not improve on old characters at all and the new additions to the cast were wholly underwhelming as well. Overall this season had its highlights: Booth Three was demented fun (pretty similar to The Morgue from s02 though), Tales from the Rift was probably my favourite and Judgement Day was a pretty fun episode as well (with some nice homages to the original movies), but more often than not I was just disappointed. Overall I'm kinda sad that the show is over (the finale was a nice little send-off to Ash Williams), but if it were to continue down this path I really don't think I would have tuned in for more. After the Necronomicon is once again found and read, the Evil Dead makes a return to Elk Grove. Meanwhile, Ash reunites with a former lover and discovers something that will change his life forever.

It’s not difficult to find plotholes, and the final scene felt as though it was setting up for a fourth season (which we’ll now never see), but Ash Vs Evil Dead remains as comically violent

An Epic finale for the best horror show of the last years. I'm very disappointed about it's cancellation, but it seems that people prefer watching **** cooking reality shows that the Evil Dead. While it’s hard to say if Ash vs. Evil Dead is the best it’s ever been this year, the series does feel as invested in these characters as ever before.

Ultimately, the first five episodes of Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3 may stumble getting off the ground, but once they find their footing, they take off fast with some of the most insane, satisfying and laugh-out-loud funny beats we’ve seen on the show so far.
