This show is hilarious. I don't understand why people have judged it so harshly. It's a great concept and you could imagine the animals actually thinking/speaking the way they do on the show. Perhaps those harsh critics are just not animal people.

Fantastic show! Its dry humor is hilarious, and much more layered than at first glance, when you pay close enough attention to cross-show motifs. I love the animation style and voice work. All that said, it's definitely not for everyone. Its content is adult, and some would describe it as crass at times. I don't get why people are complaining so much about this show, it ain't that bad sure the animation isn't the best but it's a chill show to watch and relax when you want to kick back and watch something not serious. Not the best show, jokes are alright some are funnier than others but overall a good watchable show that's not bad, maybe season 2 could be better

Not sure what the point of this show really is. "Animals," they're just like the terrible neighbors you try to avoid. That could be the tagline based on the pilot, which was about Rats having parties, doing drugs, and trying to hook up. Ugh.

Gave up watching the show half-way the second episode. It wasn't at all funny. Not to mention, terrible animation. Did I mention it's not funny? I honestly can't think of anything positive to say about this show. Who thought this was a good idea?

The anthropomorphic humour is heavy on the sexuality but it's early days (only three episodes at the time of this writing) and it's not overly graphic. It'll have to broaden the scope of its subject matter to keep it interesting but has the potential to grow into a rather unique take on the edgy animated genre of television. This is HBO after all and you can expect Animals to push the boundaries of political, not to mention social, correctness. Expand

Dry humor made by two friends with bluntly made animation. This show is very funny, they nail the personalities of the most obnoxious people you regularly meet in real life, and then they don't mask their self awareness.

I have never seen anthropomorphic animals being voice acted so crassly, and that is a compliment. All the guests are hilarious, and since there is for improv it just

This show isn't trying to be the best thing out there, but the dry humor, the honest conversations, the situations the animals are in, not to mention the side-story you follow through the whole season, it all boils down to a cool show that I enjoyed a lot.

This is an offering best served in small doses to really appreciate some of the nuances built into each episode.

As is the case with a lot of animated shows based in a very alternate reality, you really have to be in the mood for Animals, a hit-or-miss series that weaves a couple of disparate stories of the animals into a half-hour set against the background of a perpetually rainy New York City.

Though occasionally funny, Animals is just not nearly as edgy as it thinks it is.
