Just like Rogue One this show excels purely through being so well executed. This is the type of product I expected to get when I watched the Mandalorian - a solidly made, well-plotted series. It just ticks all my boxes - its the mission impossible fallout of the star wars world - it just does all the stuff I enjoy about the series to such a high level that I just can't criticise it.

Every actor did great but I have to highlight Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Andy Serkis, Denise Gough, and Fiona Shaw for making it all even greater. Its not prefect by any means, the show's lack of proper pacing is big problem. There are episodes in which nothing happens and are filler, but despite that it manages to achieve good world building. For the first time we see inner workings of the empire and find out that they are not entirely incompetent idiots as always portrayed. The visuals are great and well done, doesn't seem fake. There is tension in the show and we get to see how rebellions are born (not just pew pew lasers). I'll recommend this show with the hopes that Disney doesn't flush this down the toilet too. Expand

After the first 3 episodes, this might just be my favorite thing to come out in the Star Wars universe. I don't understand how people can depict this show as boring. I guess it's boring if you lack the ability to remain focused and require nonstop clichéd action events. This show is properly building a world of it's own in the Star Wars universe and I'm all for it.

Andor is a blast of fresh air that feels very similar to reading a best in class Star Wars novel. Full of world building and dynamic performances, this flavor of Star Wars brings stories to a new audience in a new tone that is more akin to an "HBO Drama" than a classic Star Wars tale. That may be unappealing to some, but for me this is continuing to scratch an itch I was didn't even know I had!

Finally! Disney has done a terrible job on recent releases and I was considering canceling our disney plus subscription. Andor has great acting and a much better star wars feel than a gang of multicolored scooter gang. The only reason for a 9 is I believe they could have combined the first 3 episodes and it would have been a great pilot to the series

You have actual adult human interactions, with a much wider range of emotions than in previous Star Wars series (The Mandalorian coming the closest). I recently stopped watching Obi-Wan, thinking that -again- the sugar content is way to high and the whole thing geared to a completely different audience. With Andor Disney presents something new - and old, and real, and good. I hope they succeed to find an sufficiently large audience for continued forays in this direction - I am certainly one of them.

A 10 in this bizarre time of grading. Not compared to the mass of cinema history - but compared with Star Wars experiences.

You will hear a lot of people complaining that this show is hard to follow, or that it's boring. They could not be more wrong. This show respects the viewers intelligence and it respects the world of Star Wars. It treats the setting as a real place that it invites you into, and to watch a story unfold around you. There are many story threads that it asks viewers to keep track of, not unlike early seasons of Game of Thrones.

Each episode runs anywhere from 35 minutes to one hour, and as such, I believe it is best watched in 3 episode spurts. The first two episodes are gradual world building, with the third being an action packed and high tension escape sequence. Episodes 4 to 6 follow a similar format, with two episodes of world building, character development, and heightening of tension, followed by an episode of perhaps the most intense action that Star Wars has ever seen.

An absolute must watch, not just for fans of Star Wars, but for people that enjoy mature, well written political thrillers and character driven action. I give this show nothing less than an 8 out of 10, with its high points easily reaching 10. Nothing else on streaming like it. Watch it.

Not an unreasonable assumption by the way. Like the name suggest it is the backstory of Cassian Andor from Rouge One. If I have to describe it it is the start of the serious and united rebellion against the empire and escalation of the conflict by both sides where Cassian is drawn into mostly unwillingly. Also it is more the story of little or normal people who struggle under the Empire. It shows consequences on the character level and bigger scale. I like that they show also the price people pay for being a rebel leader. But I have also to war you too. The pacing is a bit slow but leads to good pay offs and some say it feels a bit off of Star Wars which I mostly disagree. It has no Jedi, big space battles or many established characters. It has however good characters, highlights and growth on the story and personal scale. Also a good heist and smart prison system. The characters won me over. Diego Luna as Cassian fully delivered. He is not the character from Rouge One (meant positive here) and makes / starts his journey to the man he will become. Also impressive were Andy Serkis, Forest Whitaker, Faye Marsay, Stellan Skarsgard and Cinta Kaz. The cast, writers and team delivers something great. The look and settings were great too. They nailed the gritty look, grim situations and increased the immersion. Overall this will be a show that does not reach the audience, success and praise it deserves. A show that’s more concerned with portraying life under an oppressive system than with inspiring awe, Andor is an unusually mature entry in the Star Wars franchise. It’s a confident and sophisticated drama that asks for—and rewards—a grown-up kind of patience.
