    I used to rather like Ricky Gervais and thought him pretty funny. However, after watching 4 episodes of An Idiot Abroad, I've come to realize that he's an evil, twisted, pervert who takes great joy in inflicting as much discomfort and pain on poor Karl as possible. I realize the show would not be much fun if he put Karl up in 3 star hotels, but he places Karl in smelly, roach infestedI used to rather like Ricky Gervais and thought him pretty funny. However, after watching 4 episodes of An Idiot Abroad, I've come to realize that he's an evil, twisted, pervert who takes great joy in inflicting as much discomfort and pain on poor Karl as possible. I realize the show would not be much fun if he put Karl up in 3 star hotels, but he places Karl in smelly, roach infested hovels with windows on streets with as much noise and fumes as possible. He places Karl in situations where he can never rest or recover, and at the moment where Karl is totally worn out and dejected, he calls him to hear of his latest misfortune and cackles in joy at his pain.
