    This show is clever and funny. Lands small messages about big issues, but doesn't dwell on anything deep. Karl Pilkington takes you on a journey and you can relate to most of the things he says, and he says pretty much everything he thinks. He's not a character, this is who is, and that just adds to the show. Great hidden gem on TV.

    Truly fantastic. You'll end up in tears laughing your head off when you watch this! I also have the book (also called An Idiot Abroad) which is one of the most funniest books I've ever read! All I can say is: Bring on the second series!

    This show is so funny! Karl Pilkington is so fun to watch and travels to these amazing places we see a different side too. He always speaks his mind and is not always so happy with the outcome. Keep traveling we want to watch!

    I used to rather like Ricky Gervais and thought him pretty funny. However, after watching 4 episodes of An Idiot Abroad, I've come to realize that he's an evil, twisted, pervert who takes great joy in inflicting as much discomfort and pain on poor Karl as possible. I realize the show would not be much fun if he put Karl up in 3 star hotels, but he places Karl in smelly, roach infestedI used to rather like Ricky Gervais and thought him pretty funny. However, after watching 4 episodes of An Idiot Abroad, I've come to realize that he's an evil, twisted, pervert who takes great joy in inflicting as much discomfort and pain on poor Karl as possible. I realize the show would not be much fun if he put Karl up in 3 star hotels, but he places Karl in smelly, roach infested hovels with windows on streets with as much noise and fumes as possible. He places Karl in situations where he can never rest or recover, and at the moment where Karl is totally worn out and dejected, he calls him to hear of his latest misfortune and cackles in joy at his pain.     Absolute comic gold! An Idiot Abroad is just genius tv. The series follows Karl Pilkington as he journeys around the world to see the Seven Wonders however he has an entirely different outlook towards them. He's also sent to do various tasks and embrace the local cultures by one, Ricky Gervais, and as you might expect it's hilariously entertaining tv designed for your pleasure! WhatsAbsolute comic gold! Whats rather amazing is the fact that it's so easy to relate to Karl Pilkington and he is without question an instant hit perhaps because he is real and not a tv character but he is quite easily the funniest individual i've witnessed in a long time.     Anyone who has listened to the trio's radio show or podcasts will feel immediately at home with An Idiot Abroad. Gervais and Merchant do their level best to push Karl to his limit and beyond and his miserable yet unique view on the world is as funny as ever, some of his reactions to the different cultures he experiences are simply hysterical.

    This show is absolutely brilliant, I laughed so much during Karl's adventures and I am so sad they're over! The show is based on sending an "idiot", which lets set straight is not an idiot, around the World and sees how he reacts to certain situations normal people would be intimidated by or scenarios that are completely absurd. This show also has Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant in it, they are the "players" in the show, they send him on his trips. This T.V. show is a good travel show too, it shows some very cool parts of the World, like Mt. Kilimanjaro or the Great Wall of China. He also travels to Route 66 in the U.S., I love Karl as an actor and a person and this show would be nothing without him. You have got to go and watch this and try not to laugh during an episode, especially his "homecoming" episodes. You will have to get the slang and other words they use, but that just makes it more fun to watch.… Expand

    A masterpiece, watching Karl Pilkington on his adventures is fantastically funny. He gives a very deep philosophical insight into so many issues, and he talks an awful lot of sense. He is made to do the funniest of things, and seeing him do it is so funny. Pure Comedy Gold.

    Very funny, Karl Pilkington is just an amazing naturally funny person, it was a great idea to sent him abroad, this is event funner if you have listened to the old xfm shows and the podcasts just fyi.

    One of the best shows on TV. A show about the typical Englishman out of his comfort zone getting tormented by a mate. Ricky Gervais is that mate. Ricky and Stephen Merchant send Karl on trips across the globe to "broaden his mind" for their own amusement. They consistently annoy him as it is "NOT a holiday!" Tormenting Karl is where the comedy comes from. Just like the Ricky GervaisOne of the best shows on TV. A show about the typical Englishman out of his comfort zone getting tormented by a mate. The first season is the best ofcourse but the other 2 are also brilliant. In series 3 Karl is accompanied by a dwarf actor called Warwick. Karl doesn't really enjoy his company as he doesn't find midgets very useful. I don't agree with Karl on that part but I believe Warwick thinks he's better than the average man. All he ever talks about is his great acting skills and his tour guide book. As Karl says "Oh, here we go again..." Great comedy along with some great shots from all over the world. Even if you don't learn anything you do get to see other cultures and have a good laugh whilst doing so. Karl is a legend!… Expand

    The show is absolutely everything right with television. Season 2 is just as good. Karl is the best personality ever. From start to finish filled with laughs.
