Summary: The film written by Doctor Who and Sherlock writer Mark Gatiss dramatizes the difficulties of producing the sci-fi series Doctor Who in the 1960s by co-creators Sydney Newman (Brian Cox) and Verity Lambert (Jessica Raine) as well as the origination of regeneration after first Doctor actor William Hartnell (David Bradley) left the show in 1966.

The whole affair is thoroughly riveting, even if you're not much of an old Whovian, hell it even works for non Whovians too. Missing it would be your own loss, trust me!

I was almost (ALMOST) crying in the last scene, and that's a very hard thing to do.
Much better than the more popular Day of the Doctor which was kind of disappointing.

Great movie it's a must see movie for doctor whos fans to see the start of there fav tv-show. it's really great! you can get it for 20 bucks at walmart with blu-ray dvd and the first ep!

Gonna be honest, I find "An Adventure Through Space & Time" much better than "Day of the Doctor". It's so much more interesting, and even got me choking up at the end. It has more heart and better writing. DOTD is still good, but I like this film more.

Although not showing the whole creation of Doctor Who, An Adventure in Space and Time makes you cheer for the people who made Doctor Who a worldwide phenomenon and makes you feel proud to be a Whovian.

It was a nice little quick bit showing how the series came to be and how Hartnell dealt with being a sort of cultural icon during his run as the doctor, As well as his reluctance of giving up the role when his health was failing.
