Sep 15, 2017The first episode is good. The second almost made me quit the show, but i kept watching and each episode just got better. Beside some chuckles here and there it's not a laugh out loud funny show, but it's amusing, compelling, well made and kinda serious for such a silly premise.

Mar 18, 2018Don't underestimate this series - it's a genuinely cunning media satire and lots of fun. It also nails high school society. I put it up there with Rick & Morty, Veep and Silicon Valley as one of the best comedy shows of 2017.

Sep 17, 2017Are you people insane? Are we so starved for good TV that we're gonna act like a joke done better in Superbad and stretched out for hours is watched? Maybe with a little intelligence this could be good (and there's definitely room for a great true crime parody with the genre being so popular lately), but the execution here is terrible. Jesus, Netflix. Don't let children write your TV shows.

Jun 1, 2018This show actually seems like it was filmed by high schoolers and I mean that in a good way. American Vandal completely commits to the premise and can be a bit tedious at times.

Jun 12, 2019I liked that it really felt like something that high school boys would make. The show had a good message.

Sep 19, 2018I had no idea what it was when I started watching, and I was surprised at how good it was. An entertaining crime documentary parody!
Just a little too much "fluff" per episode. -

Sep 25, 2018It may seem shallow, but this is a mocumentary at its best. It has more intricate plot than many real crime/detective shows.

Dec 21, 2017American Vandal will lead you to believe that it's just another mockumentary that just goes "hehe... isn't it funny that we did ______ but, ________ is inappropriate?" However, it turns into something really incredible by the end. I don't want to spoil anything so, please do yourself a favor and spend 4 hours to watch one of, if not the, greatest Netflix originals.

Oct 30, 2017One of the most pleasant surprises this year. After watching the first episode, you're immediately obsessed with it, "forced" to binge all 8 episodes in one sitting. Smart. Funny. Entertaining. Addictive.

Oct 11, 2018One of best mockumentary of last few years. Like a lot of people i had no expectations, but the show drew me in. Perfect to watch with close friends. Can't wait for more.

Jan 1, 2022Formulaic at times this original series takes a mostly hilarious concept and investigates it to its limits. Realistic in as much as parody can allow the false prosecution delinquent leaves those around him vulnerable as lives are overturned in the name of justice (or ego) given how you see it's cautionary ending.

In its assemblage of footage from Snapchat feeds and other social media sources, as well as its collection of solid teenage performances, American Vandal gets at something true about our obsession with whodunits and how every generation finds a new way to commit very old crimes.
-
Everyone involved with this show really commits to the format. That’s what makes American Vandal more compelling than I would have suspected, even though it does have some significant flaws.
-
Even in its first half-hour American Vandal begins to drag. A cliffhanger ending pushed me on to episode two, which also failed to move the plot along.
