Better than last season, but I'm still worried that the story won't lead to a satisfying ending.

One of the consistent complaints about recent seasons of American Horror Story is that the story falls apart midway through the season. This is after their single episode anthology American Horror Stories that tried the Twilight Zone/Creepshow route to so-so results. So far (several episodes in) the reined in approach seems to be working. The Horror ensemble of actors do their best with a sort of The Shining/vampire mashup of what people will do to succeed in the arts. The addition of Culkin to the cast, reminds us of the sly charm he brings to the screen. Of course the conclusion is an episode or two away, but so far, nicely done American Horror Story. Expand

The season started of really good! I love the aesthetic, and the new town. Happy to see some faces back! I'm really excited!

This season could have been a 10 if it was just the Red Tide part. Death Valley was promising but it ends up feeling like a parody of American Horror Story. The last episode is the worst season finale of the series & that's saying a lot. Also I don't understand why both miniseasons didn't crossover, they feel taped to each other.

A good attempt to get around the bloated episode count of other seasons. 2nd story not as enjoyable as the 1st, but it's always entertaining, even at its stupidest.

Expand

An strange and terrifying season. Red Tide, at the beginning, remembered me Asylum's atmosphere. The first part of the season has a great storytelling and the characters, a dramatic and horrifying development. The final, isn't what I was expecting, especially about some characters death. For a series with an illustrious track record, "Double Feature" is literally sinking it all into the mud.

Red Tide is a promising, stripped-down start to this season, one whose comparative brevity might just save it from the bloat and ridiculous reveals that plague other seasons of the show.

If you’re into American Horror Story for the horror, you’re going to have a blast. If not, then Double Feature has some killer performances from your favorites that you won’t want to miss.
