Absentia is just a messy TV series that at its best serves as a reminder that good writing is essential to the medium and that pouting and looking dour and confused it not really premium-cable-style acting.

She also serves as executive producer. Unfortunately the series gets waterlogged along the way. Emily is captured and escapes several times. A lot of time is spent running through the woods. The show would have been more effective as a movie (or a limited series). Ten episodes is way too many for this story. "Absentia" has been renewed for a season two. Let's hope they iron out the issues by then. I'm willing to give the series a second look. Full Review »

I won't say anything about the story as it was fun going in with no knowledge of what the show was about. The plot keeps moving quickly and has a pretty satisfying ending. It could very well stand on its own as a single season but I'm definitely looking forward to season 2 if there is one. Full Review »

Stana Katic plays just fantastic, her heroine wants to experience the whole film.
