Sep 26, 2018Laugh Out Loud mellow drama. My wife watched this and she laughed harder than I did after a while. The show is trying SOOOOO hard it's actually funny. It felt like both a premiere and a hamfisted finale at the same time. "Everything happens for a reason" would be a great drinking game.

Oct 8, 2018With such a great cast how can this show be so boring. I couldn't even keep interested in the show it was so all over the place. The twists aren't even that good. I literally kept looking to see how long was left in the episode. While it is a touching story it just couldn't keep my attention and while some drama fans may love it its just not for me.

Mar 21, 2019So I decided to stick with this to the end and wow, was I disappointed. Boring, unoriginal. A regurgitation of this Is Us... not to mention ALL very girly men! What happened to REAL MEN, not these wimpy little creatures with NO back bone. Very disappointed especially because I decided to watch to the end. What a draggggggg

Jan 28, 2019This is a terrible show and needs to be cancelled. First for all, the writing is bad, the male actors are whinny little cry babies. I have tried really hard to like this show but I give up! It is painful to try to get through an episode, too many couples and groups to follow, just a bad show all around.

Give the show credit for not dragging its heels. ... Watching Jon's circle of survivors--men and women, friends and spouses--as they pick up the pieces should make for some memorable TV. [15-28 Oct 2018, p.9]

Projecting male sensitivity through drama scripts seems to be a difficult task for any writer who isn’t Shonda Rhimes, but this series is an example of how not to do it, in that it links men having feelings to crisis and misery. Relationship ennui and marital bed death are low-key obstacles here, but even worse is the way the premiere capitalizes on the disconnect between the four main characters and the wives and girlfriends in their lives.

It’s so transparent about its intentions and also because it wants so badly for its audience to love these characters. Even though the cast is decent, the characters don’t immediately pop because the writing lacks nuance.
