    First episode short review.
    -------
The 9-1-1 show is filled with personal family drama. It's based around a Fire Department crew, 1 Police Officer and a dispatcher. I personally thought they would include all the departments like Coast Guard, SWAT, etc. The show has potential. Besides shows like Chicago Fire, SWAT, etc you don't have any shows like this on TV. Besides that first or second unrealistic scene with the young fire fighter. And later on another scene where the young fire fighter was on the roof. It was a good first episode.

It's more watchable than most of these types of shows so far. But it's ridiculous that they're portraying Connie Britton's character as having a romantic interest in Oliver Stark's very immature character. It's a disservice to Britton who brings such presence to the screen. It's almost as ridiculous as the 90 pt rating by the Wall Street Journal. A fast paced, action packed show with a great cast, this new show has a lot of potential.

The pilot episode comprises several emergencies, all of which are written and directed as nail-biters. In between, we begin to learn a little about some of the main characters. Nothing that would distinguish them from other characters in similar procedurals, but even if 9-1-1 is a departure from racier Murphy-Falchuk fare, it maintains high production values, solid performances and engaging scripts.

The reason 9-1-1 seems even worse than it is, is that it has such good actors performing such awful material. How awful?: Somebody flushes a baby down a toilet!
