While not perfect, particularly when the writers try to incorporate stories inspired by what's going on in the civilian world into a military one (opioid manufacturers and transgenderism), the show reminds me of so many of those I served withWhile not perfect, particularly when the writers try to incorporate stories inspired by what's going on in the civilian world into a military one (opioid manufacturers and transgenderism), the show reminds me of so many of those I served with in a fresh way. Most Hollywood depictions of the military fall into either an inaccurately flag-waving jingoism that paints over the cracks or a depressingly nihilistic bashing of all things American, the military included. 68 Whiskey introduces audiences to soldiers as they are, flawed but brave, warts and all, and allows us to follow on an adventure of flawed but not terrible writing, and great acting and visuals. Also, the Pashto they speak is very good, a rarity in Hollywood. Hopefully the writing can be improved if it is picked up for a second season.… Expand
