My suspension of disbelief is now permanently suspended. This show was good in seasons 1 & 2, but when you start bringing characters back from the dead because you have run out of innovative ideas, it's time to hang it up--which they should have done after season 4.

Total dreck! They should have cancelled the show after season 5 and gone out with some dignity.

I cannot believe how dumb this plot has gotten! It's a national securety emergency, and the fbi take steam boats to the to the site of the kiddnapping.

Easily the show's worst season. For 6 seasons Jack Bauer knew that bad guys had to be stopped no matter what it took. But enter season 7 and all of a sudden we have this bulls--t about "remorse", and it only gets worse as the season goes on. By the end Bauer even claims that the law is more important than saving innocent lives. How moronic. This show was once smart enough to know what theEasily the show's worst season. This show was once smart enough to know what the right thing is but now they've been led horribly astray. Its almost as if the ACLU planted writers in attempt to make the show's philosophy match their own. Pathetic. That's the best word to describe this season. Expand

  1. The show's long break seems to have rejuvenated its story lines, in which intense, rapid-fire action plays out against the backdrop of a complex, methodical geopolitical chess game.
  2. The new season has a few moments, mostly involving the return from the dead of Jack's old CTU colleague Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), who now seems to be working for the bad guys. But all the attempts by Jack and his writers to justify every past decision often brings the action to a crawl.

Tonally, this often feels more like a psychological thriller than an action one, which is a very good sign. 24 is thinking, not just doing, and that bodes well for the later hours when our friend has tended to jump the tracks. All in all, a terrific start.
