A must have for Supreme Commander fans, Forged Alliance improves upon the original game in every possible way.

It's the same great-looking, fast-paced, fun-to-play game, only with an extended story and higher-resolution visuals. That the experience is better on a PC is only natural, given that mouse-and-keyboard controls are the heart of any honest shooter.

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate is a half-assed second sequel that fails to live up to the original's good name. It doesn't try to introduce anything new to the plot or design of the game, and contents itself to copying the classic in an uninspired manner.

Innovative and fun, yet has plenty of depth even for older gamers.

Call of Duty 4 is a great online shooter, and welcome competition to both Counter-Strike: Source and Battlefield 2. The single player campaign is everything you can expect from a Call of Duty game and then some.

A disappointment. Unfinished, unpolished, monotonous and offering poor value for money with the subscription scheme. Yet it kind of grows on you over time.

Not a complete disaster, but lacks in scope and ambition, and fails to keep the interest up as the quality of available content falls as you level up, and the high end game is just promises at this point - while the newbie experience is fine, the "meat" of the game that would keep you playing for months seems to be still under development.

To stay on top of this great game or to enjoy it as intended, you need to pay attention and think before committing yourself. A far better game than the sum of its parts.

TimeShift is a bag of old tricks that won't surprise the audience but will entertain them. It's also an encouraging example to game developers (or anyone else for that matter) struggling with a delayed, seemingly hopeless project.

Escape from Paradise City isn't trying to be the most visually stunning or the most innovative game, but with its excellent blend of several genres, its attention to detail, and easy accessibility with its low requirements and absolutely no frustration due to bugs, it becomes a game that I'd easily recommend to anyone.

Ironically, the story is better-suited to a summer Hollywood horror flick, and it falls flat as a premise for driving action in a video game. With a number of great releases on the horizon, there's no reason to let this aberration anywhere near your hard drive.

The fundamental simulation aspects haven’t changed, but the action layered on top does much to eschew the series' reputation as a competent but sleepy simulation.

If you can cope with the game's shortcomings, then this title can offer hundreds of hours of intense gaming.

This is pure value-for-money: a total of 5 excellent games for the price of one (and a bit). The sheer quality of the gameplay to be experienced makes The Orange Box an absolute "must have" purchase. Get it now, get the gnome into space but don't eat the cake.

When the biggest flaw of the game is that it gets a bit repetitive after the first hundred or so hours of play, you know you have something special.

Fine addition to the overall storyline of Gordon Freeman. Fails to stand alone, but I guess that's episodic gaming. Bit on the short side and the weakest link of The Orange Box, but good fun as long as it lasts.

Mask of the Betrayer is a great epic level fantasy role playing campaign, based on aging and limited technology, with two glaring flaws: a dysfunctional multiplayer mode and a very high barrier of entry. That said, if you finished Neverwinter Nights 2, this expansion is definitely worth getting.

The most enjoyable PC racing simulation to date.

Ultimately not a bad game, just "too casual". Definitely enjoyable for many, especially younger players, gamers with lives or those who actually prefer the simplicity. For a hardcore reviewer like me, the gameplay is unfortunately just too simple, repetitive and unchallenging.

On its own merits, Opposing Fronts is a worthy expansion to Company of Heroes. DirectX 10 shenanigans and a surprising lack of finish make the whole package less than we were promised, and had the right to expect.

To its credit, Two Worlds dares to be less conventional than Oblivion, but it's not nearly as polished in any regard. The unbalanced difficulty makes for a frustrating first few hours, and there's little incentive to return to the game after completing the main story line.
