The core gameplay and basic design sensibilities have been retained, and while there are some concessions to player ease, they don't interfere with the gameplay

It's not perfect, and the chrome finish is marred by a few pacing and polish quibbles, but successfully taking Hiryu's seemingly anachronistic style into the 21st century has only proven how much he has improved with time.

Unfortunately, Goodbye Deponia is a wasted effort by Daedalic because it's marred by a series of bad moral decisions, and the protagonist is the epitome of unlikeable.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is about as much of a step backward as a direct sequel can be.

As long as your expectations are tempered, Halo: Spartan Assault is a serviceable game. It works as a top-down shooter, but you'll miss the enemy intelligence of the older games.

In the end, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is a fine game for puzzle platforming fans.

If you're fond of unrestrained mayhem and interesting weaponry, Earth Defense Force 2025 is a must-buy.

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl has a limited audience. It exists for people who want to get into dungeon crawlers but find the mechanics confusing and the plots lacking.

It isn't the best title in the series, but it certainly isn't the worst, and if you're looking to play a fighting game that tries something new, rent Battle of Z before committing to the purchase.

The new incarnation of Warlords isn't great, but it isn't bad, either, under certain conditions.

It comes so close to greatness that it's possible to overlook its glaring flaws. Just be warned that it'll be a slog to get to the end.

While LocoCycle is far from the worst game of the Xbox One launch, it certainly isn't the best.

Blood of the Werewolf is a good homage to the side-scrolling horror platformer games of yesteryear.

Overall, the Champions Bundle isn't bad if you're still a dedicated Halo 4 player. The maps are good, and the aesthetics are plentiful for those who care about that. If you're just a casual participant in the multiplayer, you're better served by only purchasing the map pack.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but the amount of care and polish that went into this title is readily apparent.
