Although its combat and iconic visuals are excellent, the harsh roguelike setup of Metal Slug Tactics is both unnecessary and a hindrance to the amount of fun that you'll get out of the experience. On the bright side, its clever bosses certainly pose memorable challenges.

Playing Crash Drive 2 will provide some fun but don't expect it to fill the shoes of its trick-based sandbox contemporaries.

From its quirky presentation to its frantic gameplay elements, Bamerang will make a good addition to any multiplayer gaming playlist.

Even though these games are mostly archaic at this point, Hidden Gems: Volume One includes 4 generally solid Commodore 64 titles.

Trident's Tale is a clunky adventure that has plenty of charm and variety so I still recommend it to curious chums who enjoy similar games.

It's definitely a solid fast-paced arcade shooter but Hyper Sentinel also tends to devolve into a needlessly frustrating experience.

As a port of one of the most enjoyable Kinect games, Boom Ball: Boost Edition simply isn't as fun with Joy-Cons as it is to stand beside a friend while virtually whacking balls with your bare hands.

It may not be the best Neo Geo Pocket Color fighter on Switch but Fatal Fury: First Contact is certainly a charming and fun game.

I love the gameplay that Food Boy presents but I hope that it gets iterated upon to smooth out some of its more frustrating aspects.

If you're looking for a simple and laidback vertical shooting experience then you can definitely have some fun with Bridge Strike.

Although its funny characters and colourful world are welcoming, Neo Harbor Rescue Squad falls a little flat when it comes to gameplay.

At Sundown is an innovative and enjoyable competitive shooter but it could definitely use more balancing and finer tuned online play.

Super Fowlst 2 proves that flinging a chicken around dangerous environments can be fun even if you're not Colonel Sanders.

As a fan of classic arcade shooters, I had fun with Air Twister but its tacked-on upgrades and goofy extra content weigh it down.

Hidden object adventures don't usually include as much variety as The Man With The Ivory Cane but it's still a rather standard affair.

Watching a chick fart as you answer trivia questions sounds like something straight out of Idiocracy but playing it is undeniably fun.

Space Pirate Trainer is a fast-paced and fun high score chaser but it has a few annoying aspects and is a rather short-lived experience.

If Legrand Legacy was on the original PlayStation, it would have a small cult following but in this day and age, you'd expect much more originality from a retro-style RPG. It does a lot well but it also doesn't go above and beyond to provide a must-play experience.

Although Necrosphere Deluxe features simplified yet challenging 2D platforming gameplay, it's a very short game that can be a bit too frustrating at times. On the plus side, the '80s synth soundtrack is absolutely fantastic.

The Grand Caiman DLC contains a visually impressive challenge tomb with a decent amount of difficulty. It's one of the shortest packs so far but as it keeps things interesting throughout the side mission and adds a little to the story, I still recommend it.
