Tomlin’s screenplay deserves credit for mixing things up, introducing new characters and narrative turnabouts. The dialogue in Being the Ricardos has the blunt directness, dagger wit, and perfectly cut corners of Sorkinese — a sound that might be described as hardass Talmudic screwball. Beyond that, though, the entire movie is a piece of thrillingly stylized compression.
