Everhood masterfully mixes dark RPG with rhythm-based games to deliver an experiment that will constantly surprise us.

Loop Hero is a combination of many genres to create one of the best games we’ve ever played. Deceivingly simple, incredibly deep and very, very addictive.

Breathedge has a solid foundations and really good ideas, but also fails to make the most of it. The second half feels like a stretch, and some of the concepts are underutilized or, at least, not very well explained.

Gnosia is really interesting, and knows how to keep you engaged. However, as the story progresses, the lack of gameplay mechanics makes it feel more repetitive.

This beautiful adventure lands on Switch with some adjustments, while keeping all the good and bad things of the original.

The Climb 2 is an intense climbing experience, with solid design and great moments. If you played the original on PC, though, get ready for some visual compromises.

A nice platformer that doesn’t do (or want to do) anything new. If you like the genre and if you’re looking for something accessible, this can be a good option.

This is a fun game, particularly if you play it for the story, as it falls a bit short when it comes to gameplay. Overall, it’s charming and enjoyable.

Maquette is interesting and has some really good ideas, although there are many ups and downs throughout it. If you like the genre, make sure you check it out.

This isn’t the most original roguelike, but it compensates for that with solid combat, fun progression and an enjoyable world.

This is a decent collection to discover some of the Blizzard classics. It’s missing many features found in similar compilations, but at least these games are now available on modern platforms.

Bravely Default II is a fantastic JRPG. There are some small issues that prevent it from becoming an instant classic, but the feeling we got after watching the true credits will stay with us for a long time.

Resurrection is, for us, the best entry in these series. A fantastic, challenging adventure that every fan of GnG should play.

This is a good collection with some big absences. We really appreciate what Capcom has tried to do to spice things up and help us rediscover these classics, although apart from those big names we also miss some extras to learn about the history of these arcades.

You won’t find anything new here, but if you like old-school metroidvania games and you have already played all the big ones, Cathedral is not a bad choice.

Speed Limit has some good ideas, and its attempt to recreate that arcade feeling is commendable, but some design issues prevent it from becoming something easier to recommend.

Colossus Down constantly tries to bring something new to the table, and delivers a fun game that is best enjoyed in coop.

This is a great ARPG, with the best combat in the series and very good ideas. It is, however, a bit repetitive and visually outdated, although that doesn’t affect the solid core of this entry.

Super Mario 3D World continues to be a fantastic game, and Bowser’s Fury is a solid experiment that we have really enjoyed, even if it’s very disappointing from a technical standpoint.

If you want to continue Persona 5’s story and you’re happy to swap out turn-based battles for real-time ones, Strikers is a game that will steal your heart.

The best thing we can say about Little Nightmare II is that it’s a game where every second is carefully crafted. In a time where most games want to be long for the sake of it, having such a meticulously designed adventure is a bliss.

Blue Fire is a good action platformer that knows how to keep the player engaged. There are some difficulty spikes, so you will have to be patient sometimes.

This is an interesting approach to multiplayer combat games, although a bit flawed. The main issues? The arenas are too big, the matches too long and the story mode is just a bunch of challenges you need to buy.

These two games land on PS5 with virtually no new features, but improving its resolution and framerate. Technical matters aside, both games are must-haves if you enjoy this type of challenge.

Earthblood is one of those games that will keep you entertained, although pretty much everything about it is average at best.

NUTS has managed to capture us with a surprising and thorough approach to investigation in its unique world. It’s heartwarmingly tedious, and all its parts work incredibly well together.

This Ultimate Edition is the best way to play Control on consoles, with the best graphic quality available and solid framerates. It doesn’t address some of its issues, like the ridiculously large amount of documents you need to read, but the gameplay is still fantastic and it plays better than ever before.

Sword of the Necromancer is not a bad game, by any means, but fails to do anything surprising or particularly well in a oversaturated roguelike market.
