Deathloop is a fantastic game full of surprises. It’s unique design and its brilliant execution offer an adventure that feels fresh and different, and it’s a game that you need to try if you’re looking for something that feels known but new at the same time.

This is a solid effort for an indie studio, and if you’re aware of its shortcomings, this can be a very interesting option for those looking for a hack & slash.

Even if it is a nice surprise, Zoink’s new game might not be its best. The combat system needs more depth or, at least, be better distributed throughout the adventure.

Maybe not the best metroidvania, but a strong contender. Great graphics, a lot of personality and fun, F.I.S.T. is one of those games that deserve your time if you like the genre.

Black Book is one of those games that some people might love and some people might hate. It has its flaws, but we think it’s a fantastic RPG and we would recommend it if you like what it has to offer.

Twelve Minutes manages to do something much more complicated than it seems: bring an innovative idea to fruition. Its plot, with surprising script twists and told at a very good pace, is actively developed by the player, who has to carefully measure the interactions between objects, the conversations they have and their actions within a time-loop structure based on in the acquisition of knowledge in each attempt. All this in a very accessible game except for some situation that requires an unclear interaction, one of its few black points along with the small technical errors that occur in a fantastic audiovisual section. The first work that Luis Antonio signs as an independent developer is one of those games that have the privilege of staying in our memory.

Fracked is one of those games meant to make you feel like an action movie hero in VR. It could have done with a bigger variety of situations, but it’s a great choice nonetheless.

Perhaps it is difficult to explain and understand where the strengths of the Road 96 concept lie, but we can assure you that we are facing a very good game that makes the most of its curious narrative exercise, one in which the linearity of a cinematic story is combined with the procedural nature of a 'choose your own adventure', all this while it is played with making decisions that help to build a plot that we feel as our own, although perhaps not so much. At times the game's history seems too on track for that player's agency to matter, at least that's the feeling it gets, and between that and the fictional disambiguation, which makes it fall into multiple genre clichés that prevent it getting wet in the topics it deals with, subtracts points from a work that is otherwise the most interesting that has been published this year.

Considering it’s full of in-app purchases, Pokémon Unite is a surprisingly good MOBA, thanks to its fast-paced designed and its deep but accessible gameplay.
