Magic 2013 is awesome. You can get a good chunk of the game for free to see if it is for you, and then unlock the rest for $9.99. It is literally the most fun I have ever had playing ag ame on my iPad, and it is almost flawless in execution. Seriously, just get the game now.

Great graphics, superb controls, and – though it does contain some cheesy voice work, an un-original but great musical score, and a storyline that borrows from a whole host of games of yore – when these elements all come together they offer what can only be described as pure fun!

This level editor, combined with the ability to share and download user generated levels, gives iBlast Moki near unlimited replay value.

King Cashing 2 improves on the original in ways I couldn’t even imagine, and takes the formula into a completely new realm. This is the kind of game that you can play for hours without knowing it, or just as well play for five minutes on the bus. No matter how, and when you play it you will have a great time.

The best action shooter I have ever played on any system anywhere. Nuff said, go get it now!

DrawRace 2 is my favourite game for iOS, and if I had to name a game that defines touch screen gaming this is it.

To me Jet Car Stunts is the perfect iPhone and iPod Touch game. It makes great use of touch and accelerometer features to not only create one of the best, and most addictive driving games on the platform, but an experience that, for me, can't easily be recreated on another device (except maybe the Wii and PS3 controllers).

Part puzzle game, part platformer, and always guaranteed to raise a smile… it's a real gem. Albeit one that's covered in gloop.

Dead Space is the best action game I've ever played on an iOS device. It's the first time I've felt like a mobile version of a game has had as much developer love put into it as it's console counterpart.

Lili is one of the most beautiful games for iOS, and it is also one of the most complete gaming experiences thus far beside classics like Dead Space.

Every few months a new game comes out that absolutely dominates my iOS gaming, and Zombie Carnaval is that game. Mobigame has taken the best parts out of one-touch, forward-motion platforming games and thrown in enough features and charm to really make this title stand out above the rest.

Infinity Blade 2 is bigger, bolder and better than before. It delivers an experience so finely tuned to the abilities of iOS, that it would be hard to replicate perfectly on any other 'current system'… It's the killer app that legitimises iOS as a gaming platform, and in a year where the competition has finally had to sit up and take stock.

Labyrinth 2 takes everything about the original Labyrinth game, and rockets it to a brand new level of quality and fun. If all the games on the App Store were this good, I wouldn't leave my house. Absolutely a must buy.

It's too early to claim the puzzle game of 2010, but any contender will have a challenge on their hands. Cogs takes it's place side by side with Zen Bound and iBlast Moki as examples of the best of the best out there right now.

Like many success stories on the AppStore, it's the simplicity that makes Beat Sneak Bandit shine. On the face of it it looks like any other platformer, with elements from classics such as Donkey Kong, Manic Miner and Mario. But by injecting it all with rhythm, Simogo have created something truly unique.

Infinity Blade turns the traditional RPG on it's head, and although I admit that it may not be for everyone, for me it is one of the best game on the iOS thus far, and it's just getting started.

Yes! this is heavily influenced by Geometry Wars, both in terms of gameplay and look and feel. But if clones are this good, and perhaps even better than the original source material, then a little bit of unoriginality isn't always a bad thing.

Online multiplayer adapts a leveling system we've seen grow in most online gameplay in the last few years rather then just sticking in a few leaderboards.

Pixel Defenders Puzzle is a great strategy game using the excellent match three evolution formula that feels fresh, and highly addictive. With loads of game modes, achievements and levels this is one of the best puzzle-strategy games in the App Store.

At $0.99 ZombieSmash offers a lot of fun for your money. With funny animations, sounds and weapons the game excels in sheer bloodsoaked mayhem.

WarGames: WOPR has almost everything in my opinion. Great gameplay, great old-school presentation and a story that is worth following. The only thing lacking that I would love to see is some kind of asynchronous multiplayer.
