As it stands, trying it out for free and judging for yourself if the pacing and repetition is enough for you to stomach would be a great idea. In the meantime, I see lots of potential for Lakewood Plaza somewhere down the line.

If you're a member of The Quest faithful and don't mind that it's lower-level content, you probably don't even need me to tell you to buy Cursed Stone. If you're new to the series, I'd strongly recommend checking out the original game first.

With no IAP in sight and great pacing, Rogue Agent is a great way to spend an evening for stealth fans. There's enough variety in there to keep you busy, and though the aesthetics may not grow on you over time, the gameplay will.

If you like your board games with some wine on the side and a shot of zen relaxation, Tsuro should hit the spot.

Ellipsis has few notable flaws, and you'll have a good time if you play it.

These 2,000+ words are probably way more than are needed to get someone to download and try a free game, but hopefully that's a testament to the impression Tennis Champs Returns has left on me, and hopefully plenty of people will get the same type of joy out of the experience that I have.

But if you enjoyed Rayman back in the day, this is a solid port of the game that you can take anywhere. And if your reflexes aren't what they once were 22 years ago, well, you'll praise the Easy mode as you rediscover just how brutal Rayman was.

I loved this game nearly 16 years ago as a joyous farewell to a series I felt was drifting away from me.

If you have played Shadow Blade, I'd say your money is best spent elsewhere. The improvements are minor enough that you would likely enjoy a fresher experience unless you are dying to replay this.

It’s a fun puzzle game that has a super simple and quite clever physics-based mechanic at its center, and it works well.

Kung Fu Panda: Battle of Destiny may be offensive to Blizzard, but it's a rather inoffensive alternative for card game fans. I ended up playing it far longer than I thought I would, and there's even a few bits that Blizzard can probably benefit from.

Its various parts may not be terribly original, but the whole package together is a surprisingly great experience--especially for being free. I’d say that’s worth painting the town red over.

Knotmania regardless is a fun idea that manifests itself into a solid, well-made game. It's certainly a unique experience to behold, and can be quite satisfying when you tackle a tricky level.

Ys Chronicles 2 is another quality DotEmu port, and the game itself is a genuine classic.

There's some rough edges to Space Grunts, but a lot of that can just be attributed to a unique feel that Orangepixel has and that I wouldn't necessarily want to go away. And the overall product is a really cool blend of different styles.

With very little in the way of IAP and a "one more round" feel, Call of Commander is really easy to get lost with.

Overall, though, All Is Lost is a very solid take on the genre. In fact, despite my complaints I’d say it’s one of the most fun runners I’ve played in some time.

So, despite its imperfections, if you enjoy deckbuilding games that are easy to play at a basic level but have a pretty limitless skill ceiling and games that offer plenty of ways to play them both in single or multiplayer, get Puzzle Strike.

Circa Infinity is a game that may not look like much in the screenshots, but if you like twitch-y arcade games and outside-the-box platformers I can basically guarantee you’ll fall in love with this.

Mountain Biker does a lot of things pretty well, and I’m always on the lookout for something that attempts to evolve (however slightly) on the Tiny Wings up/down hill mechanics. Unfortunately, despite having an interesting tap-and-tilt control scheme and a fitting theme, the game never fully grabbed me.

If you like kaiju flicks and want to try a unique puzzle game, give CombineRobot a whirl for a buck. Once the allure wears off it does feel a bit more conventional than it does at first glance, but there's enough content there to keep you busy.

In some ways Shattered Lands feels less like a sequel and more like a fulfillment of the promise behind the first game, like this is what Red Winter wanted to make all along.

It's still enough of a Tower Of Fortune that it's unlikely to attract new fans, but it's also different enough that it might be off-putting to fans of the previous games, at least initially.
