When you consider that a fully fledged version of Battlefield 1943 will cost exactly the same as this when it releases later on in the year, Death Tank feels even more like it’s royally taking the mirth.

You’ll be utterly hypnotised by SF IV in full flight so do yourself a favour, pick it up and give your thumbs a real treat with one of the most satisfying titles seen so far in 2009.

Nevertheless, it’s one of the best retro retreads you can find on XBLA and Tozai should be applauded for doing the original game justice without trying to get too clever with it.

Overall the development team should be commended for making another excellent skating title. Everything runs really smoothly and it seems to have come together really well. The new features add on to what was already a fun experience with the original.

A nice relaxing and simple XBLA title that shouldn't offend your Auntie Nellie, and has enough "one more go" appeal to see you right through to the end of the game. Not scintillating and exciting, but certainly not a lame duck either.

As with Assassin’s Creed before it, Prince of Persia suffers from being one of the best looking but worst playing titles on the 360.

In essence then, the utterly superb gameplay and unrivalled feel of this iteration of the Street Fighter series makes it a nigh-on essential purchase, despite the slightly naff reworked graphics.

Mirror’s Edge seems to be yet another game marking EA’s gaming renaissance. Rather than churning out endless sequels, it’s encouraging to see that they’re willing to take a leap of faith (pardon the pun) and let ace developers such as DICE try out new IPs and ideas.

All in all, if you had no love for Banjo Kazooie before, this won’t be the game to change your mind – and if you’re new to the characters and are looking for something creative to exercise your imagination on, this doesn’t quite cut the mustard.

Overall this is a fun title to play this holiday season. While I had fun going through the campaign and seeing how the story unfolded I still prefer the modern warfare setting and weapons.

I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend this game to anyone who faithfully follows the televised wrestling bouts, as once again THQ and Yukes have delivered a punishing final blow to anyone else even considering developing a wrestling title.

Overall, Fable 2 is a fantastic game. Lionhead did a great job in bringing the world of Albion to life on the XBox360 and you could spend many, many hours simply exploring the world of Albion.

To summarise, love the visuals and explore the fantastic gameworld Ubisoft have created but don’t expect anything ground-breaking or life-changing because this just isn’t as innovative as it wants to be.

The game may feel like it’s treading an extremely well-worn path but with a plethora of races on offer, so many customisation options and a superb online mode, Midnight Club L.A sets a high standard for other street racers to follow, and EA’s Need for Speed could have a lot of catching up to do.
