Most people will probably be satisfied with the original Music 2000 on the PSone, but if you’re feeling flush, or really want to be the next David Morales, then this is definitely worth checkin’ out and is a must for those who missed out last time. Let''s groove!

In the history of PS2 platformers, there has never been an example that positively drips character like Psychonauts does. In fact, you'd be hard pushed to find an example in any genre.

If you’ve got a PC lying around then you’re better off with the PC version, but The Sims on GameCube is still a mind-blisteringly good game if judged on its own merits.

As great and good and wonderful and new as SOCOM is, the game has a MOAB-sized room for improvement and before we go deeper into the communal experience of multiplayer combat we should cover a few points that prove that we’re not going to be fully-fledged cyber soldiers just yet.

Fans of the comic book will rejoice in how their beloved anti-hero has made such as magnificently bloody transition from page to pixel without loosing any of his edge along the way, which is not down to just one singular entity, but rather all involved who strived to keep the game true its dark Marvel roots founded in the adult Max series.

A classic arcade action game, which should appeal to both older gamers who remember this style of game with fondness, and younger players who may have never experienced this sort of simplistic joy before.

It’s fair to say that Victorious Boxing will develop fine stick control more than simply being male ever could and, as in life, the rewards are vast, with expert wagglers able to move and fall into a lean-accentuated strike all in one, ahem, fluid motion.

It sets down the ground rules early on and adheres to them with a wonderful strictness that many games are terrified to do.

And they're the meanest bunch of cops you'll find outside of America's deep south.

Easily one of the most refreshingly original adventures to grace the PS2 to date. Elements conspire to create a well-rounded and enjoyable gaming experience that will keep you entertained for all of its 40-odd hours and aside from the odd annoying section (being forced to use underpowered characters early in the second disc, for instance), there really isn't anything stopping this being one of the best RPGs due out this year.

While there is plenty in single player to keep the gamer coming back for more, the chance to play online would have lifted this into true classic status.

The visuals are excellent, commentary exciting and convincing, and overall enjoyment is top-notch. Highly recommended.

Lego Racers 2 races along at a fantastic pace, with extra bursts of speed in places, and the graphics are lavishly colourful, featuring impressively effective weapons. It has set an impressive president as the first highly recommendable cart racer to appear on the PS2.

Tougher than a room full of ninjas, but action hero lovers will have a lot of fun trying to put an end to The Joker’s scheme.

The main drawback though is simply the hardcore nature of the beast, the controls are as intuitively arcade based as Madden and so playing is made difficult if you really don’t know what a ‘screen pass to the wide out is’.

That the plot is furthered only periodically, rather than religiously at the end of each mission, highlights Namco’s tempered hand, ensuring that it’s the gameplay which remains firmly at centre stage.

This imaginatively titled sequel is far from a massive step up, but all of the changes and new additions make that small step seem so much bigger than it really is.

Despite being essentially the same ride as before, the improvements make this as good - if not a little better - than the original.

It's very complicated yet highly accessible and features the kind of attention to detail that consoles just have never witnessed before.

This one is a little joy to play that’s packed with an innocence that will fail to raise bile in the mouths of even those for whom fluffy white bunnies amount to nothing more than medical testing fodder.

GF doesn't really go anywhere new so don't expect too many surprises in that field, where it does excel is in keeping to the tried and tested Lucasarts formula of comedy and logic combined to give you the most senseless fun you can imagine.

The painfully overused 'gangsta-speak', the cop with a grudge against you and Josie Maran trying to pop your hood the whole time are all completely unnecessary, although not particularly obstructive, adornments. Otherwise though, this is everything you already love about Need For Speed plus the pigs.

A slick hockey game that delivers all of the action, realism and play modes fans of the series and the sport could want. As ever though, this latest edition in the series plays, by and large, like the other nine.

The depth of story is surprisingly luxurious... This isn't a "Final Fantasy" beater but it's a cracking RPG nonetheless.

Initially it won’t take you that long to complete, but with other vehicles to try out and infinite scores to settle it is sure to keep you coming back, even after a long absence.
