Cute, charming, and an utterly magical joy to play from start to finish, LocoRoco 2 is your new best friend.

But what it lacks in style and depth it makes up for in sheer replayability and nostalgia. It takes you back to a time before there were meaningful stories, fancy leveling systems or any of that other stuff you might take for granted.

Even though many of these titles can be hunted down for free online or downloaded for a small wedge of cash, Sega have rounded up their proudest moments and presented them to a willing audience who can now appreciate the glory days of the mega-company.

For what House of the Dead: Overkill lacks in diversity or prudence, it more than makes up for it in style and a sense of humour that dances on the boundaries of acceptability, and at times downright moves it around whilst insolently shouting “na na na na na na”.

There hasn’t been a game since Mister Mosquito that has played with the idea of an insect-sized protagonist and pulled it off so well.

X-Blades is a whole load of bad ideas pushed together into one colossal mistake. It’s pretty and titillating, but just like a real prostitute, your money is better spent elsewhere.

There are a couple of decent ideas here, but the game as a whole needs some serious refinement in just about every way to have any hope of standing out in what is a fairly crowded genre.

So really it depends on whether you’re willing to fight through the classic mode to try and justify your purchase. Those that do will enjoy R-Type Dimensions despite it’s horrendous difficulty level.

It doesn’t push any boundaries or feature anything worth copying, but My World, My Way takes an amusing idea and runs with it.

It can easily become a sensory overload and the tower balance could have used a little more tweaking, but under its simple premise there is a fulfilling strategy experience.

Bejeweled 2 sits perfectly alongside the likes of echochrome or Cuboid as one of the better puzzlers on PSN. It's apparent that the PS3 is not the most ideal fit for a game such as this, but SOE have done the best job possible in porting the game over.

Football Manager Live is a wonderful and addictive game and a must have for any armchair manager. The depth of the gameplay is still unrivaled and any little niggles and annoyances the game contains are small fry compared to the successes the game has achieved.

Big Bang Mini retails for $20, and it’s truly a lot of “bang” for your buck. There’s a ton of fun and a ton of style crammed into this card, and ultimately, the game lives up to its name – it’s a big bang of enjoyment on your tiny DS screens.

Skate 2 is still a blast. If you’ve done all you can in Skate, then it’s worth picking up to extend your adventure.

But if you have more MS points than you know what to do with, The Maw is perhaps worth the proverbial weekend fling. Just don’t expect it to stay around long enough for a commitment.

It may not stand out massively in the RPG world, but Star Ocean: Second Evolution deserves a lot of recognition for simply being an enjoyable, well scripted and interesting RPG.

A gem of a game. In the current racing landscape littered with big-budget and hugely hyped titles, this is a refreshing sunbeam which stands out by trimming all the unnecessary fat.

A fun, simple and at times compulsive game which is worth a look if you’re a fan of the classic Breakout.

Lord of the Rings: Conquest is indeed awesome, but it’s the kind of awesome derived from watching people falling out of trees on YouTube or seeing your friend get punched in the nuts at a party. It’s the sort of game nobody in their right mind can take seriously, but because it’s so ludicrous, it winds up being fun.

Moon executes the basics of first-person shooting incredibly well; the touch screen and stylus controls work wonders in terms of accuracy and speed. It’s just a shame that everything else didn’t get as much attention.

It certainly won’t grab your eye like the aesthetic found in echochrome, but it’s far more content to play things safe and be a ton more fun.

To say that Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is overpriced at $10 would be a bit of an understatement. To be honest I had a hard enough time dragging myself to play the game for free.

Fans of the ancient myths will want to give this blandly rewritten adventure a wide berth as will RPG fans and people waiting patiently for the next God of War. There’s no challenge here, no excitement and ultimately no game worth playing. What a wasted opportunity.

Look, folks. If you have any interest in RPGs, you need to play Persona 4. Period. It’s one of the best titles available on the PS2. In fact, it just might be the console's swan song.

Despite the challenge Söldner-X can be an extremely enjoyable and addictive shooter when all is said and done. The poor design decisions do certainly take away some of the luster from this game. However, even after throwing your controller in sheer frustration and disgust there is still enough here to keep gamers coming back for more (if only just as a pastime between playing more major titles).

Banjo-Kazooie may be more of an homage to Nintendo’s first 3D romp through the mushroom kingdom than a pioneer of the same genre, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying.

If you’re in the market for a bog standard platformer that exceeds itself visually and aurally, then Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars is a worthwhile head spin without the legal repercussions.

Never does it come close to touching Sands of Time in terms of majesty, and what you’re left with is a beautiful looking piece of art, masking a depressingly above average adventure.
