Of all the iOS developers using the free to play model, NimbleBit has come the closest to getting it right.- Thunderbolt

Ultimately, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a decent overall package that succeeds more due to the remastering of quiet classic Butcher Bay than the somewhat disappointing more recent episode Dark Athena.- Thunderbolt

Regardless of its flaws, Scribblenauts is a fine title. It may be over-hyped, but it’s still worth playing.- Thunderbolt

Shattered Horizon is an excellent game sold short by its own lack of content. What's in the game is impressive, even beautiful; however, the fundamental fact is that there are only four maps and one gun to be had in the entire game.- Thunderbolt

In short spells, Battle of the Bulge is an engaging strategy game with enough depth to satisfy anyone with a passing interest in World War II history. The developers have clearly paid great attention to detail to make it authentic and ground it in the history it seeks to simulate, but you're left wanting more from a formula that clearly has huge potential.- Thunderbolt

This is a game for the fans, featuring an appreciative amount of exposition even if it's fairly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.- Thunderbolt

Strania has its hands deep in the ashes of fourth generation consoles – it feels warm and welcoming but lacks the innovation and punch of current titles, and by aiming for a core fan-base alienates itself from the wider audience.- Thunderbolt

A worthy addition to the series, Blue Dragon Plus is held back by its own ambition, as the graphical beauty and audio design are overshadowed by the uncertainty and aggravation of the battlefield.- Thunderbolt

Rage is a quality shooter and a bunch of other things but above all else it stands as a technical benchmark for the generation, showing just how far we've come since Wolfenstein 3D.- Thunderbolt

I'm sure that younger gaming fans especially, will be able to appreciate swinging around in pajamas. The rest of us can find an entertaining game hidden underneath a pile of little flaws.- Thunderbolt

Fortunately for everyone, Street Fighter’s core gameplay still prevails and that is really all fighting games are about.- Thunderbolt

It may not be an everyman game, but it sits in a genre cruelly under-represented outside of PCs, and is very good at what it does.- Thunderbolt

The combat mechanics are easy to pick up, but the advanced techniques ought to be more than enough to keep things interesting. Regardless of its shortcomings, Soulcalibur V is still a fun and engaging game. That's all what really matters.- Thunderbolt

Any way you peel it, Fruit Ninja Kinect is a bare bones game about swinging your arms at flying produce. If you're too proud to see the stupid amusement in doing as much, you will hate it. For those of us wanting a bit of silly, mostly mindless fun, it's a refreshing new way to work up a sweat and look like an idiot.- Thunderbolt

Without a death penalty, X-Men Arcade is a very different game than it was when originally released. That said, it's also very true to its roots, maintaining, perhaps with fault, the look and feel of the original.- Thunderbolt

It's best to think of A World of Keflings as an XBLA Christmas present for the wee ones, really a "Baby's First RTS" more than anything.- Thunderbolt

It re-establishes the game's hold on the WWII shooter sub-genre and although it may not be worth a purchase for the singleplayer alone, the multiplayer makes it a worthy addition to any collection.- Thunderbolt

Twisted Metal is stuck in second gear, trying to evolve beyond the simplistic (but enjoyable) nature of its mechanics. It introduces new ideas while attempting to please hardcore fans of the series at the same time, and this middle-of-the-road approach doesn't really work.- Thunderbolt

Value matters, and though the game doesn't give the completely non-linear gameplay I was hoping it would, the excellence of the early game makes Crysis: Warhead an attractive title for those who enjoyed the original.- Thunderbolt

Being able to thrash baddies on a handheld is gratifying experience. But Joe’s new abilities and the use of the Touch Screen make this game feel a little bit offbeat. If you don’t mind the tedious puzzles and lack of difficulty, this might be something worthwhile.- Thunderbolt

It's a shame the additions to Assassin's Creed: Revelations' single player aren't as impactful as before. Maybe it was inevitable considering the yearly release cycle, but the majority of its improvements are incremental at best, while the rest are disappointingly substandard.- Thunderbolt

The style and mood captures the spirit of the comics perfectly, and having two playable characters is a feature that turned out excellent. It's a shame that stomping through the streets as Venom while devouring civilians can't make up for the repetitive missions and the appallingly short time it takes to beat the game.- Thunderbolt

A fun game, a mess, for sure, but a good mess. While it never reaches the scares of the original, or the compelling story and characters, it's still a rollercoaster ride of butchery, blood and out and out violence - violence that never lets up.- Thunderbolt
