Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a very good action RPG with gorgeous visuals and a great soundtrack, but it is held back by unstable performance and visual cutbacks.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series brings remasters of the first two Klonoa games to Nintendo Switch with some quality of life improvements, but it is held back by some unfortunate performance issues both docked and handheld. This release should've also included the bonus artbook and soundtracks in the base release as a museum or gallery to be a true celebration of Klonoa instead of being expensive DLC.

Digimon Survive is an great visual novel that sprinkles in tactical RPG encounters, but it needs some optimization work on Nintendo Switch and to address the localization issues. Digimon Survive also makes good use of the Switch's features with touchscreen support and even HD Rumble adding to the experience. Hopefully Bandai Namco Entertainment can build on this for a sequel or new entry in the future.

Cannon Dancer Osman is a fun action platformer with great set-pieces, but one that would've been an easier recommendation if it cost half of what it does right now. The lack of any extra content like a gallery or interviews with the team makes it disappointing even as a retro re-release.

Sisters Vs Sisters on PC is improved over the PS5 version even on Steam Deck despite a bare-bones port. While it isn't a massive leap for the franchise, it is one of the better entries despite its issues.

The Cruel King and the Great Hero tells a memorable story with great music and a lovely aesthetic, but it is let down by the gameplay and some performance issues on Switch.

While Death end re;Quest itself is worth experiencing and the visual novel segments feel great on Nintendo Switch, the conversion leaves a lot to be desired with its visual and performance downgrades and is only really worth it if you have no other platform to play one of Compile Heart's most interesting games on.

Despite the visual cutbacks and online experience right now, DNF Duel on Nintendo Switch is a competent fighting game. This version isn't close to the best way to experience the game, but those who only play on Nintendo Switch could do a lot worse in the genre than DNF Duel.

Disgaea 6 brings some interesting new features to the beloved tactical RPG series, but feels incomplete compared to prior entries while suffering from a myriad of technical issues which hold it back from being an easy recommendation.

If you’ve enjoyed No More Heroes and some of Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture’s other releases, you should definitely consider experiencing The Silver Case 2425, with its memorable narrative and excellent music, despite the technical issues on Nintendo Switch.

Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 1 for Nintendo Switch is a disappointing release of two very good tactical RPGs thanks to stability issues, bugs, and a lack of polish for games that deserve a lot better.

Yurukill: The Calumniation Games should've been a home run on Nintendo Switch since it blends two genres that perfectly suit Nintendo's hybrid console. Sadly, it doesn't feel as polished as it should, and ends up being a missed opportunity given the potential with the setting.

Cotton 100% has great music and lovely enemy and boss designs, but it doesn't have the same polished gameplay that some other games in the series have. It still deserves a spot in your Nintendo Switch collection.

The Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection on Nintendo Switch is good value with three games and a lot of DLC and modes included, but the variable image quality and performance across the games on Nintendo Switch leaves a lot to be desired.

Pokemon Violet feels like a giant step in the right direction for the franchise in most ways, but also a step back in others. While I still consider Pokemon Legends: Arceus a more polished experience, there is no denying the quality of core gameplay, new mechanics, and music in Pokemon Violet. The whole experience is held back by abysmal performance and poor visuals though.

The Guinness World Record winning Clockwork Aquario has gorgeous visuals and great music but some mechanics that aren't fully realized. If you're interested in this as a fan of Westone or arcade games, you will find a lot to like here assuming you're ok with how short it is.

Yurukill: The Calumniation Games on PS5 attempts to bring two genres together, but falters on both fronts. The adventure parts don't hit the highs of genre greats, and the shoot 'em up stages are a bit too basic for me. The setting and presentation are great, and Yurukill has potential, but it would've been better had the developers stuck to building it in a single genre.

Wonder Boy Collection is a good collection of four classics, but it lacks any meaningful extras and the many games included in the more expensive physical-only (as of now) Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection. The games included are well worth playing if you don't already own them in some form through other releases though.

If you played and enjoyed the original Death end re;Quest on Nintendo Switch despite the port's issues, Death end re;Quest 2 is worth getting at the asking price thanks to the inclusion of all free and paid DLC from other versions. Sadly, this port suffers from many performance issues that result in the combat and gameplay feeling sluggish compared to other platforms making it much harder to recommend.

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms should've been a great beat 'em up that took the Downtown Special: Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama concept to a Romance of the Three Kingdoms setting, but the lack of gameplay polish holds it back on Nintendo Switch. Crystar is an action RPG with a compelling story, great voice acting, and excellent music. It is let down by mediocre combat and level design. A nice addition to the base game for everyone who enjoyed this generation of Pokemon so far with a new location, some quality of life features, and its new content. It is however let down by a plethora of technical issues still plaguing the experience.
