Radiant Silvergun is personally the best shooter written by Treasure, but it's not for everyone. The measured cadence of the action and the difficulty of handling the seven weapons make it difficult to approach for those who prefer the deflagrating action of more dynamic alternatives like danmaku, but the effort of mastering such unique mechanics is repaid by an extraordinary game.

Releasing a remaster of such a prominent game just over three years after the original was certainly a gamble. Fortunately, Naughty Dog has combined the audiovisual restoration work (adequate and perceptible in some parts of the game, almost superfluous in others) with a general optimization that has improved the quality of the experience with a much more solid frame rate and noticeably faster loading. To further increase the value of this version we find a challenging and fun new roguelike mode, three cut mini-levels, skins to unlock and various other extras that further delve into the world of TLOU2, allowing us to discover all the details and secrets.

Dave the Diver deserves to be a hit of summer 2023. He does not innovate and does not offer new gameplay mechanics, he is "only" concerned with giving ten hours of superfine quality and succeeds with a style and lightness from which one immediately becomes addicted. It is a much more accurate work than it seems, an experience in magnificent balance between its two souls, characterized by an immense heart and continually able to amaze you as it drags you deeper and deeper into the abyss of the "another dive and I shut off" loop.

Hi-Fi Rush is what happens when Tango Gameworks unlocks its ancestor DNA, finding ways beyond the Resident Evil-ish production and remembering about Viewtiful Joe and that early-2000 mood in video games. It's what happens when Devil May Cry finds about the iPod and the 1 dollar the track music, crafting a little game but with a great rockstar attitude.

God of War: Ragnarok lands on PC with a porting that is perfect, prudent to the right point and wise beyond measure. Thanks to scalability and optimization, practically anyone can enjoy the exploits of Kratos and Atreus. If you also have a recent gaming PC, then your journey into the myth will be absolutely unforgettable.

Thinking of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe as just a remaster or a sequel to the original would be doing it an immense disservice. Yes, it's The Stanley Parable with more content and on new platforms. But it's also much more than that: it's a criticism of the industry's over-reliance on DLCs and sequel, it's a tale that makes us reflect on what videogames are and should be, and it's a powerful window on Davey Wreden's evolution since the original. Unmissable.

Nixxes Software raises the bar once more with The Last of Us Part II Remastered, a technical, narrative and action masterpiece. The physics engine gives combat a vicious realism, while textures and models elevate environments and actors' expressions to cinematic levels. The story, to be experienced through the different points of view of the two protagonists, will keep you on your toes until the credits roll, while the roguelike mode No Return offers new challenges to the most demanding players. Various graphical and accessibility configurations will allow everyone to experience the adventures of Ellie and Abby. The best version of the saga conceived by Naughty Dog is undoubtedly this one.

It's difficult to imagine another game capable of drawing our attention like this one. Monster Hunter World is huge, captivating, challenging and addictive, especially if played with a group of friends. Capcom has improved so many things over the original formula, it's almost impossible to keep track. Seriously, there's no better moment like now to begin your hunting career.

Into the Breach needs to be slowly savoured, tasted and finally loved. Unless you hate the genre, that is.

Tekken 8 is yet another great chapter in a series incapable of making missteps. The new mechanics change the skin of the game and, although the historical detractors will not find particular reasons to change their minds (the famous "volleyball simulator" for the emphasis placed on juggles), all the others will find an incredibly deep game, which will accompany them for several years to come. Who knows, maybe thanks to Ghosts even those who are completely resistant to online gaming will find the courage to take their first steps in a new world.

First-party developer Japan Studio shows competence in the use of virtual reality, and even more in the way it takes the DualShock controller at the front of the action. The protagonists, Sony's Bots, are as cute as they come, and the general look and feel make Astro Bot a joy to play. On the other side, the game does barely offer any kind of challenge at all and more variety in gameplay would have been appreciated by experienced players. However, it is good to see this type of production for virtual reality, which show great potential.

As a longtime fan of rhythm games, Rhythm Doctor was a pleasant surprise. It strikes an effective balance between a charming, playful tone and a strict, unforgiving design built around precision timing. The controls are as simple and immediate as they come, supported by a strong selection of songs and musical styles, and a light but engaging story mode. The intentionally quirky pseudo-pixel art look feels somewhat unnecessary and disconnected, yet remains oddly appealing. With extensive options, a solid level editor, and a very active community creating custom songs, Rhythm Doctor offers impressive longevity for players willing to embrace its demanding nature.

Despelote is an emotional leap into childhood, among soccer balls, dreams and nostalgia. As little Julián, we relive the excitement of 2001 in Quito as Ecuador, in the midst of an economic crisis, dreams of World Cup qualification. The game blends deliberately retro digital photography, hand drawings, and ambient sound design to render a touching and well-directed autobiographical tale. Part of the gameplay includes Tino Tini's Soccer 99, a purposefully crude remake of Kick Off that perfectly reflects the nostalgic and messy tone of childhood. It lasts a bare couple of hours, but will stay with you much longer.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Switch 2 is a surprisingly ambitious conversion, successfully bringing one of the most spectacular JRPGs of recent years to the Nintendo platform without compromising its identity. The visual presentation remains high-quality for a (even portable) console, the combat system is still brilliant today, and the content of the Intergrade version guarantees a complete package. On the other hand, the framerate locked at 30 fps represents a step backward that's difficult to ignore after experiencing the fluidity of the versions for inevitably more powerful systems, and the installation size—already significant on the original platforms, to be fair—is particularly noticeable on Switch 2. Finally, the strongly linear structure was already subject to criticism in 2020 and today inevitably appears more dated, especially when compared to the open spaces of Rebirth. It remains an excellent choice for those within the Nintendo ecosystem, but not the definitive version of the game.

Unicorn Overlord is incredible, a deep and accessible strategy game that resurrects and updates the formula of a divisive classic like Ogre Battle, which has been dormant since the days of Person of Lordly Caliber. Beautiful to see and listen to, magnetic and impossible to put down: everything is right, apart from some small flaws listed in the body of the review. They don't really make games like this anymore, so don't miss out.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a masterpiece, and I'm not used to using the term too lightly. It has a magnetic plot, is supported by a successful cast and the audiovisual presentation literally sparkles, enhancing Switch as rarely before. If you love Japanese RPGs, you have to have far more serious problems than those that plague Aionios to get rid of it.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is an explosive pack. 3D World returns with an improved pace, while retaining the stellar gameplay that characterized it when it first launched, and of course being still as hilarious as it was back then. Bowser's Fury takes the lesson a step further, creating a small and dense open world that will put you to the test with a sense of urgency unlike any other Super Mario game. The result, needless to say, is pure, unadulterated joy.

Pokémon Pokopia is a beautiful game that perfectly embodies the Pokémon soul. Omega Force's Animal Crossing-Minecraft hybrid makes friendship its cornerstone, and between one construction and another, between one friend and another, the world torn apart by selfishness seems to be reborn in the blink of an eye. Pokémon Pokopia is a mature game, probably the most mature in the series. Let's hope Game Freak takes notes for the mainline too.

Thank Goodness You're Here! It is a fantastic story of great depth, written and structured with lucidity and liveliness. It brings so much to the table that may be little known to those who just intend to play without too much ceremony, but who may find one of the hottest video games of this summer, in the same way that Slay the Princess was almost a year ago. For those who are already familiar with the misfortunes of the world, well... He may be at his home. With me it was like that.

The very existence of Psychonauts 2 demonstrates that good ideas have to overcome a thousand difficulties before being realized, but in the end they somehow impose themselves. It took years for the first chapter to overcome people’s skepticism but, day after day, it has built up a fan base so large that we were finally able to play with a full-fledged, high budget sequel. And it's beautiful. Pleasant, original, colorful, compelling. Do you need more adjectives to be convinced?
