  1. While it's always good to see Burnett, something has gone seriously awry with this new version.
  2. While it is more intriguing than gripping, the drama has considerable power in its best moments, many of which will come in the last episodes.
  3. Anything remotely resembling complexity and nuance has been sacrificed to cramming six decades of history into two hours of airtime, minus commercials.
  4. I suspect that if I were a 10-year-old girl -- which I'm not -- I would love this film... That being said, I can still recommend the movie because, despite some sugary-sweet moments,... [it] isn't condescending to its young target audience and actually has some bite to it.
  5. As bad as the original was, the sequel is even worse.
  6. A gripping show.
  7. Dead on arrival in the laughs department.
  8. A lame, tawdry sitcom with unfunny sex jokes.
  9. Warm, clever, appealing and a lot of fun.
  10. A pedestrian, predictable crime procedural.
  11. "Commander'' looks good, summons up some real energy in key scenes and establishes a certain warmth in its portrayal of the Allen family.
  12. It's all shamelessly manipulative, but the show has real heart.
  13. [It has] a rich mix of sharp observant humor and a sure feel for the family dynamic.
  14. Both tonight's opening episode and next week's installment are predictable, loaded with cliched dialogue and lacking in the tension you want in this kind of show.
  15. "Invasion'' has the look of a winner.
  16. Manages to be crude and sweet, smart and splendidly stupid, all at the same time.
  17. This is a cast that jells immediately, hitting on all cylinders from the very first scene.

  18. The writing is sharp and sophisticated, avoiding the predictable sitcom cliches.
  19. Baruchel and Johnson (who is quite appealing in his role) have real chemistry.
  20. "Threshold" seems to have a lot going for it. A good bunch of writers. Classy production. One of the season's quirkiest and most appealing casts,... Whether all these high-quality ingredients result in an intoxicating sci-fi stew remains to be seen.
  21. This is David E. Kelley on his worst days with wildly improbable plot developments and much forced humor.
  22. A creepy, atmospheric, sometimes downright scary hour of TV.
  23. There's nothing particularly fresh about the visual approach, the writing is only serviceable and the plotlines -- a pregnancy, a drunken-driving accident, love found and lost -- are straight out of TV Writing 101.
  24. Within the first 15 minutes, you realize you have jumped onto what could be one hell of a thrill ride.
  25. "Extras'' doesn't quite rise to the same level [as "The Office"], but it is very funny and Gervais plays another memorable character
  26. If you're looking for allegorical, intriguing science fiction, this isn't it. If you're OK with rapid-fire, light-hearted dialogue with an occasional dig at politics and culture, this "Doctor Who" is your cup of tea.
  27. Burns puts forth a dazzling spread of vintage clips and still photographs, and his love for baseball is palpable throughout. Fellow fans will appreciate how the film celebrates the resilience and enduring appeal of the game.
