That said, there is no denying that NHL 11 provides an enjoyable recreation of ice hockey, which manages to be both accessible to newcomers and packed with content to entertain more dedicated fans.

Worms: Battle Islands brings the classic Worms experience to the Nintendo platform and introduces a range of features that while not initially useful do enhance the playing experience when played with friends. What makes the deal better, is that it is available at a budget price.

The Shoot lacks any really depth and the multiplayer element hasn't been implemented as well as it could have been and as a result despite not being a bad shooter overall the game quickly starts to feel repetitive.

Deadly Premonition has developed something of a cult following, but for me the good bits were always overwhelmed by the bad.

I'm not sure whether the series should be criticised for repeating a formula that has proven so successful up until now, but I'm equally unconvinced that Ghost of Sparta is worthy of a great deal of praise.

Sonic Free Riders serves up a rather disappointing playing experience and everything it gets right is pulled down by the clumsy and sluggish controls that do nothing other than make it feel like you're not in control. Despite initial optimism and potential this is one of the weaker Kinect launch titles.

Whilst this sequel may improve some of the technical aspects of The Force Unleashed, the all important narrative is non-existent.

Clearly aimed at youngsters and families Kinectimals isn't going to appeal to the masses. But kids will most definitely love the on-screen pets and with the mini-games and amount of variety, Kinectimals has something for everyone.

Whilst Kinect Joyride does offer some fun moments, the fact you never really feel in control this is' very short lived…probably just like the game will be in your collection.

Overall HAWX 2 tries to build on the solid foundations laid by the original game by adding more variety, but ultimately it fails to recreate the action packed feeling the first game did so well and simply doesn't make the same impact.

Start the Party as a single player experience is seriously lacking, but like most casual games the experience improves when played with friends.

After enjoying the original game I had high hopes for Mafia 2, but despite putting the bad things about the original right they seem to have taken everything that was good about it and trashed it.

Deathspank is a solid and eminently playable slice of RPG gaming, and fans of Diablo, Baldur's Gate and the like might truly enjoy the opportunity to play a lightweight comedy homage to past favourites.

Green Day: Rock Band has a more rock feel to it than The Beatles game did and provides fans of the band with a mostly solid set list to play through. It doesn't introduce anything new to the Rock Band formula we've come to know and to sum up all I can say is, it does what it say on the box. Gives fans of the band access to their songs.

This version of Tiger Woods seems to have become something of a victim of its own success and the result is that the game is very, very similar to that of last years game.

Alpha Protocol maybe a role-playing game in name, but for me it felt far to much like an average third person shooter.

In the build up to its release, Lost Planet 2 was seriously hyped up but as is so often the case in the games industry it sadly fails to live up to its billing offering nothing more than an at best an average shooter and one that is left to hardcore fans of the original rather than the gaming masses.

Overall, Prison Break – The Conspiracy should have been a fitting tribute to a very clever TV series, but turns out to be falling more in line with the final series – a big anticlimax.
