The Tiny Bang Story is a fun, gentle, whimsical title for anyone who enjoys a good puzzle or brain teaser. It’s accessible to younger gamers without talking down to them, making it fun for adults, too. The game can be finished quicker than you may like, but it’s priced accordingly and doesn’t waste a single moment on anything other than the joy provided by its gameplay and presentation.

Jet Kave Adventure is a fun action/platformer that anyone can enjoy. It’s a little on the short side (for the price) and could use some extra features to keep the player interested, but it looks great and is easy to play.

Instead of “just one more chapter” 80 DAYS will have you saying “just one more playthrough”. It might also have you wanting to revisit Jules Verne’s novel. It comes recommended to booklovers and those desiring to a digital taste of the valet lifestyle.

Paper Dolls Original isn’t the scariest horror game, but it’s a solid attempt from a restricted studio and it does have some charm.

Island Maze is a short and sweet puzzle game with a calming atmosphere, easy controls, and puzzles that are just hard enough to keep you saying, “One more try.”

Despite its modest handheld origins, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a true console experience. With updated aesthetics and superior controls (especially for inventory), it’s shaping up to carry on the Game Boy legacy and be both a critical and commercial hit. An innovative, generally light-hearted installment that’s full of surprises, Zelda enthusiasts won’t want to overlook this game. Link’s Awakening is also an ideal entry for those who aren’t Zelda fans.

Smoots answers the question, what would it be like to combine the look of Wii Sports with the action of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games – in a budget format? It’s fun and easy to play, though it won’t have much staying power. Give it a go if you’re looking for a party game alternative while you’re waiting for the next Mario and Sonic title.

Even with the maps the way they are, however, I still enjoyed my time playing. I mean who doesn’t love giant gun-toting robots? Overall for what Damascus Gear Operation Osaka has in content and gameplay, I would spend $20 all day long. Don’t pass this one up, if you like mech-based games.

As the checkered flag comes down on RISE: Race the Future, it has finished strong. The graphics, the driving mechanics, the tracks, the vehicles, and the play-time are all very good. The game is fun to play and challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. Even if you normally don’t get into racing games, RISE is definitely worth having in your Switch collection. Unfortunately, the lack of multiplayer is a significant omission that we can’t ignore.

Robots, mayhem, and destruction, what more do you want? Hookboots is a good party game, offering more than I expected at first look. Even if you don’t have three friends to play with there is enough content to keep things interesting.

Prominent amongst the PC gaming streaming scene currently, The Sinking City is a very good game that was awkwardly converted to run on the Nintendo Switch. It was unsettling for me to sit down for hours on end to review. It also launched during a stretch where a lot of new games are releasing to challenge my attention. But I’ll probably revisit The Sinking City during quieter times, and when it’s hopefully been patched.

Somehow making itself a difficult game to put down even during the most stressful of sessions, Grand Brix Shooter consistently feeds off my ‘just one more try’ attitude.

This action game is aptly named, as it is indeed a mess.

Honestly, if it had been released as a handheld electronic game in 1982 my brothers and I would’ve been all over it. But it wasn’t. It’s 2019, and even for $1 on a dying gaming system I expected better results from my Space Intervention.

Quarters, Please! has charm, is entertainingly retro, and replayable. Yes, it has cut a few games, but it’s added even more in their place. It’s basic but fun, and the latter has become a real rarity on the Nintendo 3DS in 2019.

Atomic Heist is a simple roguelike with a cool sci-fi story and all the colourful explosions you could wish for.

Zen Studios bring a top-notch level of quality that you’d expect from a company established in video game pinball supremacy. Whether you’re a casual fan or a pinball enthusiast, you’re bound to find enjoyment with Star Wars Pinball. This package is a real bargain on Nintendo Switch too, with replay value as high as Bespin’s Cloud City. Zen Studios has done the Star Wars license proud.

Daemon X Machina offers the Nintendo Switch a chance to delve deeper into mecha games, but misses the mark in challenging missions and captivating story. Still, it’s animation style and customization options make for a bright, colorful game.

Astral Chain is a wonderfully fun and ambitious action title with a great gameplay hook that improves the more you master the basics. It’s yet another example of why PlatinumGames continues to be one of the best in crafting a unique action-adventure hack-and-slash.

For a game that started on mobile, Rest in Pieces is a fine example of game fitted properly for the Nintendo Switch. The super simple horror-based game uses believable physics and addicting runs to create an easy game for anyone in the family to enjoy.

Fin and the Ancient Mystery will keep you playing for hours trying to get 100% on all levels. Honestly, this game was a lot of fun to review, it had a decent story and fun puzzles. For the price, it’s a no brainer to pick up and not regret.

Invasion of Alien X – Earth in Crisis is just OK. It’s very simple and plays fine, but without any kind of incentives, there’s no real reason to play this for more than an hour or two.

Wreckin’ Ball Adventure is a creative little platformer that is certainly interesting enough to keep you smashing and bouncing for sixty levels.

Shmup fans are going to find a passable game in here. The unique visuals and ability to choose your missions do help to set Escape From the Universe apart from the competition. The gameplay, however, doesn’t, and the general repetition and need to grind for credits make this a game that most will be fine to avoid.

If Legend of the Skyfish drops to its app price of $3.99 I’d have an easier time recommending it for its good-looking presentation and fishing pole approach to combat. But even then, my recommendation would be limited to those looking for a straightforward game and willing to tolerate the muffled music and repetition.

Aside from using different strategies for the various opponents, the match 3 battles themselves never change much throughout the game’s story. You’d think this would be a negative, but Puzzle Quest remains addictive throughout the crazy amount of content presented in this package. Even if you lose interest in the story (a kingdom under attack, precarious alliances, a lone warrior who must rise up, etc.), the gameplay carries itself well.

Standby lacks that connection that makes you care about the tend goal. It got to the point where the levels were so difficult I couldn’t care less about what happened to the little guy in the pea-green trench coat. I didn’t have the motivation or inspiration to keep trying to help him escape the glitched world.

Setting aside some motion sickness from playing with the Nintendo Switch docked – and the overall strangeness of playing a grid-based puzzle from a diagonally forced perspective – Plunge is a fun take on an action puzzler.
